Punk Unhappy; Phoenix Drafted to RAW Cheer Him Up?

RAW superstar CM Punk is said to be unhappy in WWE and is considering leaving the company when his contract expires later this year. Punk is burned out from five years on the road and is not happy with other stars such as The Miz and Alberto Del Rio getting pushed over him.

WWE wants to keep Punk on the roster and have offered him a new longterm deal, which he's yet to sign. It's interesting to note that CM Punk's real-life girlfriend Beth Phoenix was traded to the RAW brand during Tuesday's Supplemental Draft - which could be seen as a move to make life better for Punk on the road.

Punk's possible departure from WWE later this year has been one of the main topics of discussion behind the scenes this week. Punk has been dating Beth Phoenix for the past several months and the two are reportedly a serious couple.

WWE has made roster trades in the past to keep superstar-diva couples together - with the most notable example being Michelle McCool being moved to SmackDown a few years ago so she could travel with her husband, The Undertaker.

Jericho's Dancing Career Ends on "Dancing with the Stars"

Chris Jericho is done with "Dancing with the Stars." The WWE star got pinned in last place and didn't get enough votes to go another round.

And though we're sad to see him go, Chris may have offered the best goodbye remarks yet.

"It's actually good timing that I got eliminated because I have to fly over to England for the royal wedding, you know, so it was going to affect rehearsal," he joked with partner Cheryl Burke smiling at his side.

"But actually, let's be honest, it wasn't my best dance and at this point in the competition you have to be at your best every week or this is what happens. But I'd like to say I'm proud of all the dances we did, and I'm proud to show that a WWE guy and a rock 'n' roll singer can go this far and do this."

"The only reason I got this far was because of Cheryl," Chris added. "She's a great performer, she's become a friend for life...I haven't seen my kids in four weeks, so it's time for Chris Jericho the Dancer to step aside and Chris Jericho the Daddy to come back."

Talk of Undertaker Moving to RAW

It was reported yesterday that WWE officials discussed moving The Undertaker to Raw to make up for a top babyface character being transferred to SmackDown during the 2011 WWE Draft. While the draft came and went without The Deadman changing brands, company sources indicate he'll join Raw upon his return to television.

Cena vs Del Rio the Plan for SummerSlam

Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena is currently planned for SummerSlam, with either the World Heavyweight Title or the WWE Title on the line.

When WWE first booked Extreme Rules, they weren’t planning on having the Draft first. Alberto Del Rio has been planned to win the World Title at the pay-per-view, and then he would have moved to RAW in the June Draft with The Miz keeping the WWE Title at Extreme Rules and taking the belt to SmackDown in June.

With the Draft being held early, there is a strong possibility now that Christian will win the World Title at Extreme Rules. If Christian wins, this would be the third pay-per-view since the Royal Rumble where Del Rio was scheduled to win the title but didn’t.

With Vince McMahon changing things and bringing the Draft sooner in hope of locking in the SummerSlam main events early, plans will be changing.

Del Rio Heading to RAW Tonight?

The web address of Alberto Del Rio's profile page on WWE.com denoted the WWE Superstar as a member of the Raw roster today.

Under the "All" bracket on the WWE Superstars page on WWE.com, his picture linked to the web address www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/albertodelrio. The error has since corrected as the URL now redirects to his original SmackDown based page.

It should be noted that if the page was not legitimate, an error page would be displayed (www.wwe.com/404-not-found). No error page is displayed for www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/albertodelrio.

Similarly, SmackDown Diva Beth Phoenix was denoted as a member of the Raw roster over the weekend. The miscue was corrected this morning.

WWE officials have discussed moving Del Rio to Raw during tonight's WWE Draft as he is currently scheduled to headline SummerSlam against John Cena. It has also been broached for Del Rio move to the brand as World Heavyweight Champion, with The Miz, as WWE Champion, heading to SmackDown.

WWE developmental Star talks About the New "No Wrestling" WWE

WWE developmental star Seth Rollins, the former Tyler Black, was asked by a fan what he thinks about WWE not wanting to be referred to as a professional wrestling company. Rollins replied with the following:

“I think you have to understand the idea of it. I was skeptical at first too, but it’s all a marketing scheme. When push comes to shove WWE will always be professional wrestling, but they are branching out and doing so much more nowadays that the word “wrestling” really pigeonholes the brand…so eliminating the word expands the brand and creates many new avenues to go down.”

"Shocking Announcement" Coming on Tough Enough

The USA Network is teasing a “shocking announcement” for next Monday night’s episode of WWE Tough Enough. Here’s their preview for next week’s show:

“The remaining contestant’s agility is tested when they are tasked with serving lunch to a busy crowd at a local 50′s diner while on roller skates. Some are naturals on wheels, while others spend more time face-planting than skating. Miss USA asked for one-on-one help in the last elimination and she gets it in the form of an in-ring beat-down from Bill. When time is up for elimination, the contestants are stunned by a shocking announcement from Steve. WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart guest stars!”

Jericho Says He's Coming Back to WWE

Chris Jericho indicated to wrestling fans in a video message that he will be returning to WWE following his run on Dancing with the Stars.

"When I come back to WWE when this show is done, we can continue right where we picked off. You can boo and cheer and yell," Jericho stated.

Jericho is asking that WWE Universe members pay him back for his many years of entertaining audiences and putting his body on the line by continuing to vote for him on Dancing with the Stars. He says the longer he stays on the program, the better it is for the entire WWE Universe.

"I'm taking this universe into places we haven't been," Jericho said. "Twenty-three million people watch Dancing with the Stars every week. The Tonight Show, Rachael Ray, Ellen, all these people are starting to understand what it is that we do as WWE Superstars and why the WWE Universe is so loyal.

"I think it's very important to remember, it's not just me I'm representing. I'm a pioneer, an ambassador for WWE on this show. Continue to vote for me."

Jericho's next performance takes place Monday. He is among the show's final eight contestants.

Jim Ross Blogs About Edge Being Forced to Retire

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here is what JR had to say about the WWE career and future of Adam "Edge" Copeland ..

"Edge’s retirement this past Monday on Raw was a shocking surprise. I had no idea that it was going to happen even up until the time Edge came to the ring and gave us the emotional news. There are no wrestlers in the business that I respect more as a performer and a man than I do Adam Copeland aka Edge. When I signed him in the 90′s, he was a lanky, over achieving kid who simply wanted to live his dream of making it onto the WWE Roster. He and Christian were like brothers and both fed off the other in the ring as they each worked diligently every day to improve their game. I honestly can’t remember a single day when Adam Copeland ever did anything to disappoint me or cause our department or company any problems.

Edge has a brilliant mind, a kind soul, patience, and would be a great teacher, producer, broadcaster, scout, or whatever task he may want to undertake in WWE. I look for Edge to take some much needed time away from the business and enjoy the North Carolina mountains and his dogs that he loves so much. He deserves no less than to return to WWE in whatever role that creates a win/win for Edge and the company but only whenever Edge is ready to re-engage.

In my role as the head of WWE Talent, I signed many athletes/performers who ended up excelling in WWE but none, and I mean no one, was more of a pure joy to work with and to watch grow from a mid card, tag team wrestler into one of WWE’s most prominent and enduring superstars who will no doubt be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame some day.

I shutter to think what would have happened to Edge in another generation of the biz as it relates to accurately diagnosing his injury. Most old timers would have ‘worked through it,’ or attempted to do so, until their body completely shut down. That’s sad and unnecessary. Modern medicine and the WWE attention to such matters regarding their talent’s health were a blessing for Edge who will now be able to lead a somewhat normal life. I am especially pleased that one of my guys has attained financial independence and that he was able to live his boyhood dream.

Notwithstanding the touching farewell address by the popular native of Ontario, no one can debate that this story did not have a happy ending. Good things more often than not happen to good people and Adam Copeland aka Edge was one of the truly ‘good guys’ I ever had the privilege of knowing in the business. Now, Adam, if he so chooses, can start phase two of his WWE life and potentially gift the younger talents with his wonderful knowledge and passion for the genre.

Do it on your schedule Adam. Enjoy those North Carolina mountains and reflect upon a job well done. It’s people like you that make me extremely proud to be in the business."

Official List of Banned WWE Terms Sent Out to International Voice-Over Workers

WWE has an information sheet titled “The Language of WWE” that they send out to people that do international voice-overs for their TV shows in other countries. The sheet includes a list of “Incorrect Terminology” and a list of “Correct Terminology.”

“The Language of WWE” reads like this:

“World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is a publicly traded entertainment company (NYSE: WWE) that creates and delivers a weekly action soap opera to its passionate fans.

WWE has been a recognized leader in entertainment for more than 25 years and has developed into one of the most popular and sophisticated forms of global entertainment today.

As a global entertainment brand, the language that we use when communicating on WWE is critical.

Please ensure that you are familiar and employing the below, effective immediately. “

Here’s a look at some of the terms:

* “Wrestling” or “catch” is banned. Some European countries still use the term “catch” to describe pro wrestling and “catchers” to describe wrestlers. “The Language of WWE” states that the following phrases are incorrect: “Wrestling is broadcast in 145 countries,” or “Catch is broadcast in 145 countries.” The correct terminology is: “WWE is broadcast in 145 countries.”

* “Sports” is incorrect. “Entertainment or Action Soap Opera” is allowed. For example, “WWE is exciting entertainment” or “WWE is an exciting action soap opera” is allowed. In the last example, “action soap opera” is printed in bold, presumably to make sure there’s no confusion.

* “Catchers” or “wrestlers” are not allowed. Incorrect examples are “Catchers are unique characters” or “Wrestlers are unique characters.” The term “WWE Superstars” is allowed.

* “Athletes” or “Sportsmen” are not allowed either. WWE gives the following example to use: “WWE Superstars are entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess.”

* The term “fight” is not allowed. Matches must be referred to as “match” or “bout.”

* “Fighting” is also not allowed but the term “action” is.

“The Language of WWE” printout concludes with the following “Key Soundbytes”:

* WWE is pure entertainment

* WWE is an action soap opera

* WWE Superstars are entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess

Edge in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012?

The feeling on Edge entering the WWE Hall of Fame is that the company will wait a few years and induct him when WrestleMania returns to Toronto.

The Miz Talks About WM 28, The Rock, Fans

WWE Champion The Miz spoke with The Miami Herald this week. Here are some highlights:

Fans' reaction to him:

"The fans always cheer me at events like Axxess or the press conferences. Then at live events they boo me, but show me the respect I deserve. They didn’t do that three years ago, when they literally hated me and couldn’t stand me. They changed the channel, when I was on TV. Now I think I’m starting to earn their respect, which is good."

The Rock:
"The Rock was my favorite growing up. He has always been my favorite. I was able to get in there and upstage him and literally show him that I’m better. It’s like when you see an icon or someone you idolize when you are younger. Then you are in the ring with him and are able to show him up. To show everyone you are better than your idol, there is nothing better than that."

WrestleMania 28 in Miami:

"I will still be the main event. I plan on still being the WWE champion. I plan on being the longest reigning WWE champion of all time. It’s just the type of person I am. I am always aiming to be number one and the best. So I will be the champion, the main event and everything everyone else isn’t."

Morrison also tweeted the following remark on Friday shortly after Stratus’ allegations surfaced online: “If you don’t have enemies, you don’t have character.”

He also said yesterday that “American Airlines is not smart,” likely in reference to Stratus stating that he wasn’t too smart in his decision making for their WrestleMania match.

Austin Says He Could Wrestle Full-Time

In an interview with Comcast's XfinityTV to promote the new season of Tough Enough, WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin dropped a very newsworthy quote - saying his body is in good enough shape that he could actually get back in the ring and wrestle a full-time schedule for about two more years. You can read the full interview here.

Here are some highlights of what Austin said about:

Nexus Leader CM Punk:
" I really like C.M. Punk. I think he’s one of the top workers in the ring. I love his promos. I love his style. There’s no smoke and mirrors. I like the straight-edge lifestyle stuff he does. You want to start pairing that against the beer-guzzling “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, I think you’d have an interesting feud to say the least. He would push me to the limits, I would teach that kid a thing or two, and there would be some wonderful promos going back and forth. I like him a lot.

How Physical He Got While Shooting Tough Enough: "One of the kids was pretty mechanically inclined, so I got in there with him…and shoot, I guess that means I haven’t been in the ring in seven or eight years…but I took a few bumps from him, gave him a few bumps, it was a lot of fun. I think if we do it again, I think I’ll be even more active and get in the ring a lot more."

A Possible Return to the Ring: " I could still, you know if I was in a bad situation, I could still get two years out of my carcass on a full-time basis." He then added, " But I’m happy where I’m at. And in ten or twenty years I still want to be doing the things I’m doing with my hunting and fishing. I want to continue to do that in a pain-free fashion. And right now I’m living a pretty pain-free lifestyle."

WWE Diva Upset With Taking A Backseat To Trish Stratus

It was reported yesterday that there is backstage heat on John Morrison and Melina as a result of their behind the scenes treatment of Trish Stratus. It was claimed that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot at Wrestlemania XXVII.

Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for the match and was said to be very difficult to work with.

During the live performance, Morrison appeared visibly cold to Status, not making eye contact with her and dodging her following its conclusion. Morrison's treatment of Stratus reportedly hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread amongst the locker room, garnering heat for both himself and Melina among some circles.

Regarding the validity of the story, former WWE talent Sean Waltman (a/k/a X-Pac), who was on hand for the WrestleMania festivities in Atlanta, wrote yesterday on Twitter that a participant of the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match did not behave in a professional manner. He wrote to Stratus, "It was wonderful seeing you this weekend. You are a true professional, unlike someone else in your match and I don't mean Snookie."

He then added that he was very surprised and disappointed by the person's unprofessionalism.

According to a friend of Melina's, the Raw Diva is legitimately upset with Stratus. Melina has privately said that her source of contention with Stratus is not because she herself was snubbed from WrestleMania due to her, but because many of the Divas were. She's upset that many of them were snubbed from the grand event when they're on the road throughout the year, unlike her. Melina also said that she's not the only girl upset with Stratus for "taking their spot."

Meanwhile, Melina wrote a message on Twitter Tuesday defending her Diva peers, and that she will fight for them.

"I was eliminated from TE...Look how far I've come. I'm not the best but God knows I try my best! Thru all the h8 I'm still standing strong!"

"I don't care what ANY1 says, WWE Divas CAN wrestle. We prove it when we get time. I believe in them. I will fight 4 them until U see what I C."

"Thank you everyone. We have a strong group of women in the WWE. A roster that I'm proud to & be a part of."

Sin Cara Calls Off a Tornado Twist on Sheamus

When Sin Cara attacked Sheamus on RAW this past Monday, a WWE crew member pushed a mini-trampoline from under the ring as Cara ran towards it. There was concern backstage that the trick could go wrong if the trampoline wasn’t in the right position, which it wasn’t. The trampoline was positioned so close to the ring that Cara almost didn’t clear the top rope when he went to attack Sheamus.

On a related note, Cara was originally planned to leap from the top rope onto Sheamus on the floor with a tornado twist in mid-air. He called an audible during the angle and ended up doing the high crossbody. The original finish to the angle would have looked better on TV but the crossbody came off nice.

Backstage News on WM 28 and The Rock

A few hours later they made The Rock vs. Cena announcement, which is a significant change within just a few hours.

There’s a feeling that the long-term plan has always been to build WrestleMania 28 around The Rock, even if he wouldn’t agree to wrestle. This could have played a factor in WWE’s decision to choose Miami as the host city. It’s possible that Rock will also go into the Hall of Fame next year.

WWE decided to remove Sunny’s induction from Monday’s WWE Hall of Fame broadcast on the USA Network. Instead, they instead went with Drew Carey’s induction since they have a promotional deal with him to push his new TV show.

The one-hour special opened up with Dusty Rhodes inducting The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. The show closed with Shawn Michaels being inducted by Triple H.

A video package highlighted the inductions of Sunny, Abdullah the Butcher and Bullet Bob Armstrong.

It's On - Rock vs Cena Main Eventing WrestleMania XXVIII

The Rock will be returning to wrestle in a WWE ring against John Cena after Monday's RAW.

The Rock accepted Cena’s challenge for a match but wants it at WrestleMania 28 in 2012 from Miami, Florida.

The Rock extended his hand to Cena and the two shook on the match before taking a beatdown from The Corre. Cena and Rock ended up coming back and fighting the group off.

WWE confirmed that the match will take place at the end of tonight’s broadcast. This is the first time that a WrestleMania main event has been confirmed one year in advance. Obviously things can happen between now and then that would stop the match.

Rapid React - WrestleMania XXVII

The event at the Georgia Dome has been done now for about three hours, but there's still a buzz in the air here in the Peach state over the over 70,000 that took in WrestleMania XXVII.

The event was a middle of the road Mania in my opinion, but to me the crowd got what they wanted - which was a John Cena loss, a lot of The Rock, and even a surprise win by Edge to keep the World Heavyweight Title.

Here's some thoughts about the event from start to finish:

* Figured the Rock would open, but was hoping that they wouldn't overuse him all night, and at times I felt they did. We didn't need the Mae Young skit with him, and the Pee Wee Herman thing was kinda goofy.

* So you give me too much backstage and do the following - make the US Title worthless by making Daniel Bryan and Sheamus a dark match, a built up 8-man tag go 90 seconds and the wrong guys win, and the odd finish to the Cena-Miz match with of all things, a double count out? Strange booking indeed.

* Didn't like at all having Edge-Del Rio on first. Why? Crowd was dead for a lot of the night IMO, and even this opener wasn't enough to get them going after they shouted too long for The Rock. Liked the match, felt totally that Del Rio would win, and was surprised he didn't. Convinced that he will get the belt soon though, and it's a matter of time as Edge gets back on the winning Mania track.

* So tired of Rey Mysterio's act, time for him to go away. Was glad after last years push for him to beat CM Punk they allowed a guy that needs a big win like Cody Rhodes to go over on him. Had no real issues with this match and where it was on the card.

* 90 seconds for the 8-man tag match?! The Corre is a team that I think is getting a solid push on a show that needs stars in SmackDown, and not only don't you give them time, you bury them with a 90-second loss. Total blunder here. Not that it matters, but Vlad doesn't even come to the ring with his pals?

* Enjoyed the Randy Orton vs CM Punk match, though again I felt that Punk should have won this. Orton doesn't need a push like Punk, and if Nexus is going to get over, why have their leader lose after basically dominating the whole match? As a whole, I liked the match and think they will continue this feud.

* The Hall of Fame Class of 2011 was good, as we knew it would be, and it was a cool gesture having HBK come out solo at the end. Don't want to think too far ahead, but next years class is going to void of a big star unless someone retires or passes away (sorry, had to say it). Unless that is they decide to go with the Host of tonight's show, who is the only big name out there currently not in.

* The Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler match really killed the momentum of the night from a live standpoint. The crowd popped for Stone Cold, which you knew they would, as well as for old WCW star Booker T, but overall, this was a dud to me. I know that Jerry deserves a Mania match, and as someone that knows him personally, I was happy he got it, but it should have been more than this. It will be interesting to see if Cole still has a job, and what they do with him from here. Was also glad to see Jim Ross and Lawler get to call the rest of the card.

* The Taker-HHH match stole the show - of course. Why not after a mid card that was pretty substandard have a match like this NOT go on last like it should have. I was all for having the Miz-Cena last, but knowing how they were going to end it, they should have made the decision to put this last. Already it sounds to me like they are setting up the WM 28 rematch in Miami, and why not - it was the best thing on the show and deserves an encore.

* Everyone hated the whole Snooki thing, and while I know why the WWE did it, I will give her this - at least unlike Vicki a year ago she pulled off two wrestling moves in the match and got the win. Anyone recall the awful "splash" that Vicki did on Kelly Kelly a year ago in Phoenix? Hate Snooki all you want, but her presence got the company mainstream attention and I wouldn't doubt if a few interested people brought the show just because of her. With that, it was fun as well to see Trish vs McCool.

* So finally a huge anti-Cena crowd gets what they want, which is to see him lose clean. It was a hookey finish, but what did you expect? You were not going to see the Rock NOT come back out, and you were not going to see him help Cena either. So the only thing left was a bad finish, the Rock saving the day, then laying out Cena for the Miz only to then lay out the Miz as well.

* I would be lying if I didn't think the GM bleep wasn't to announce a three-way between Cena, the Rock and Miz at the end, but that would have felt an awful lot like WM 9 when Hulk Hogan worked his backstage magic to get the strap from Bret Hart and Yokozuna. I am glad they left it on Miz for now, and we shall see how much more time the Rock sticks around and what they do with him and Cena now.

* As far as a number in the 1 to 10 scale for this Mania, I really can only give it a 5. The undercard was weak, they botched a couple booking spots, and the night was really all about The Rock getting over on the two stars in the main event, which could backfire if he goes away right away.

* The crowd as well was not that great for the night in my opinion, and I really hope after Miami the company brings the event back up east.

Let's Talk Wrestling's WrestlMania XXVII Predictions

WWE Title Match
John Cena vs. The Miz

All the focus on this match has been how much the Rock will get involved. The build has been on the Rock vs Cena, which is what the company seems to be building towards. One wonders if they are going to do a remake of 14 when they built Mike Tyson to be a heel, then he turned on Shawn Michaels to help Steve Austin. Can't see the Rock helping Cena win, but with the heat on Cena now, they may do it just to get him back over.

Winner: Cena

No Holds Barred Match
Triple H vs. The Undertaker

Many think this will finally be the year the streak ends, more so with HBK being involved somehow. Can't see it. They wanted this to be either Brock Lesner or Sting vs Taker, but settled on HHH after the first two dropped out and they couldn't come to a deal. Taker won't lose here, though I can see there being more and more talk of this streak ending with Taker set to walk away in 1-2 years at 46-47 years old. Here's thinking HBK on accident superkicks HHH to give Taker the tombstone win.

Winner: Undertaker

World Heavyweight Title Match
Alberto Del Rio with Brodus Clay vs. Edge with Christian

Edge was undefeated going into WM 24 vs Undertaker, and has lost three straight since, and tonight will be four. Del Rio truly is the future of the company with a three-year deal inked last year, and he's going to represent the company as the champ for awhile at least. One has to wonder if the curve will be Christian turning on Edge, but that would almost be too predictable. Del Rio does find a way to get a win.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

Good mid-card match for both, like Rey Mystero's match with Punk a year ago. Orton's stock seems to be heading back up as a top face, and I think Punk takes the fall here with Orton getting one on the leader of Nexus.

Winner: Randy Orton

John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler, Layla and Michelle McCool

Tons of heat at the Hall of Fame for Snooki when they showed the promo, but the WWE got what they wanted with lots of mainstream media coverage of her being in the show. Look for a comedy match that should go about 5-7 min with Stratus wrestling 90 percent for the women, and Morrison and Ziggler getting a lot of mat time as well. They likely will give Snooki the pin, which should go over like a fart at a wedding at the dome.

Winners: John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki

Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett vs. Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Kofi Kingston

Odd booking here from the start, as I was amazed Kingston was left off the card, but the company did a good job using Axxess to shoot an angle to have him replace Vlad in his match. The Corre seems to be the growing future of the company, while the team of Show and Kane was thrown together, so give the Corre the win as they continue to develop the team.

Winners: The Corre

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

These two could steal the show if given the time, but as history goes, they won't get more than 5-8 minutes to try and go at it 100 percent. Mystero is talking about leaving, which is why they should give Rhodes the win. Plus they need to build his character up, so if they do the right thing, Rhodes goes over. With that said, you know how it's going to end.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Special Referee: Steve Austin
Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole with Jack Swagger

The King finally gets a Mania match, and it's about time. Of course it's going to be filled with a lot of hijinks and running around with the likes of Swagger and Autsin probably at some point getting into it. No doubt that Lawler wins, and one has to wonder with Cole being in such hot water if they are going to bury him totally to end his time with the company over his anti-gay tweets that the company is feeling the heat on.

Winner: Jerry Lawler

WWE United States Title Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

Pretty much just a way to get Sheamus on the card, and a good way, as these two have gone back and forth a few times recently with solid matches. I can see this being the opener, as Sheamus should get over to keep him hot in the heel mid-card slot and also carrying a strap.

Winner: Sheamus

Michaels Teases Being Involved in the HHH-Taker Match

Shawn Michaels teased involving himself in The Undertaker vs. Triple H match at WrestleMania XXVII.

When asked about Triple H ending "The Streak," Michaels said, "I'm not sure I can let him do what I couldn't."

He then commented on whether he plans to interfere in the match, saying, "I'll do everything I can not to stick my nose in. Maybe."

He added, "Do you ever find that you're meanest to the people you love the most? If I ruined his chances of ending The Streak, I'm sure he'd beat the tar out of me at that moment, but I'm sure he'd forgive me eventually."

Michaels' role in the match has not been announced by WWE.

Change To WrestleMania Match Following Injury Angle At Axxes

WWE conducted an injury angle at this morning's WrestleMania Axxess affecting the Eight-Man Tag Team Match at WrestleMania XXVII featuring Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs. Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett.

Following Kozlov's victory over Tyler Reks, The Corre attacked the Raw Superstar. The faction used the steel steps to crush The Moscow Mauler's shoulder against the ring post.

WWE acknowledged the attack on the company website: "Twitter and YouTube has since erupted with photos and videos of the incident. The footage only serves to leave the WWE Universe wondering about Kozlov’s condition, or what condition he’ll be in for the Eight-Man Tag Team Match at WrestleMania."

The angle will play out with Kozlov being removed from the Eight-Man Tag Team Match and replaced by Kofi Kingston. The announcement is not expected to made until the match takes place.

Kingston dropped the Intercontinental Championship to Barrett last week on Smackdown.

Awesome Kong in Atlanta, Doesn't Mean She'll Be at Mania

Awesome Kong, who is signed to a WWE deal, has been spotted in Atlanta. While it hasn’t been confirmed that she will not be debuting, the news that she’s in town doesn’t mean as much as people are speculating. WWE brings in pretty much everyone signed to the company for WrestleMania weekend, whether they’re performing at WrestleMania events or not. This doesn’t mean that Kong won’t debut this weekend but being signed to a WWE deal, she would most likely be in town anyway.

WWE Hoping Mania 27 Brings in One Million Buys

WWE is hoping that the addition of The Rock and Snooki to WrestleMania 27 will help them break 1 million pay-per-view buys. They’re also hoping that the use of social media like Facebook and Twitter will help push buys.

WWE Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Wilson told Multi-Channel News this week that the idea was to do more social media promotion for WrestleMania this year, something more than their traditional TV advertising. Wilson said they were trying to bring back former fans with The Rock and new fans with the Snooki storyline.

Wilson talked about fans being able to go to The Rock’s Facebook page for his response to what John Cena did to him on RAW. She said, “That allows us to continue the storyline even after we’re off the air. It’s really a 24-hour engagement that our fans have with the WWE going into WrestleMania.”
