Hotel Incidents During WM Weekend

There were reportedly hotel bar incidents with Matt Hardy and the WWE Tough Enough crew in Atlanta this past weekend for WrestleMania.

No details yet but obviously they can’t do anything to Hardy but there may be some repercussions for the Tough Enough cast. One source says if a main roster WWE star had done some of the things they did, they might have been released if they were low enough on the roster.

Latest News on Matt Hardy

WWE officials discussed Matt Hardy’s departure weeks before even granting him the release on October 14th. Some in the company wanted Hardy gone as soon as he asked for it but certain things slowed down that process. One of the main things was the feeling that releasing Matt would keep Jeff Hardy in TNA longer than his current deal calls for.

There was also a feeling that with Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign going on, they didn’t need a talent out there doing anything he could to get released. There was a bit of heat on Hardy for posting a video online of an unmasked Rey Mysterio in the background eating lunch.

People close to Hardy say that he is definitely headed to TNA and those in the company expect him to come in as well. There is already some negative attention on Hardy within the TNA locker room regarding all his odd videos that have been posted online.

There has already been talk within TNA of doing a Hardy Boys vs. Beer Money feud that would elevate Robert Roode and James Storm. Apparently Matt and Jeff are very aware of this possible feud also.

Matt Hardy Officially released from WWE

WWE announced today that Matt Hardy has been officially released from the company. Their statement reads: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Matt Hardy, effective as of October 15, 2010. WWE wishes Matt Hardy the best in his future endeavors.”

Matt Hardy's release comes as no surprise as it's been rumored to happen for several weeks. However, many WWE officials were hesitant in granting Matt Hardy his release since they didn't want to see him rejoin his brother Jeff and reform the Hardy Boyz in TNA. Matt must be happy with the situation as he's been wanting his release from the WWE for a while now. Matt has been extremely outspoken about joining TNA and has mentioned the possibility on several occasions, including this video blog.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross commented on the situation, writing on Twitter: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Matt Hardy. Know no details just that fact. Good luck to Matt. Probably best 4 all involved.”

Hardy hoping to get his WWE release this week

It’s said that Matt Hardy is hoping to get his official release from WWE this week. Word from within WWE is that officials will be making a decision on Hardy’s future with the company some time in the next few days, if they haven’t already.

Matt Hardy continues to indicate that he will parting ways with WWE in the near future. I would have liked to stay in WWE for my entire career, but looks like it’s just not gonna work out that way. Thanks for your comment pal.”

Conference call to talk about Matt Hardy's future

It’s believed that WWE officials held a conference call earlier this afternoon to discuss Matt Hardy’s future with the company. No word yet on what happened.

The feeling is that WWE will keep Hardy on the roster as long as he agrees to some rules and stipulations from the company. Word is that a lot of people backstage are upset with Hardy’s recent actions and some talent want him to be released, or at least think he should be released.

Update on why Matt Hardy was sent home by WWE

Matt Hardy was sent home from the WWE’s ongoing tour of Europe this weekend and WWE sources have confirmed the report. According to reports, there have been concerns about Hardy’s “condition” at yesterday’s live event, in addition to a live event this past week in New York. Hardy was supposed to team R-Truth against CM Punk and Luke Gallows. However, after a discussion with WWE officials, he left the building and didn’t return for the match.

Though Matt Hardy claimed in a video blog entry late last night that he was still in the U.K. in spite of online reports of him being sent home following an apparent backstage incident the day before, he did not work the final event of the European tour, which took place in Skegness, England. He did not offer a response to that portion of the report. Additionally, in his video he blamed “a stooging punk” for the story hitting the net.

In regard to his health, Hardy said he has never felt better. He claimed to have dropped over twenty pounds since changing his diet to eliminate red meat. Apparently, he managed to drop seven additional pounds during the international tour as he wrote on Twitter Thursday night that he was planning a YouTube entry concerning his recent health breakthroughs as he had dropped thirteen pounds at the time. “Definitely gonna do a YT entry soon about my recent health breakthroughs concerning my digestive process,” Hardy wrote. “In 3 weeks, I’ve dropped 13 lbs.”

Matt Hardy taking a Break

Matt Hardy noted on his Twitter account on Saturday that he will likely be taking some time away from the squared circle as a result of WWE’s ’stringent health and wellness policies’.

“Thx 4 everyone who has been concerned about my foot being jammed between the steel steps,” Hardy wrote. “It was bad-it felt like my foot was bein cut off. Didn’t plan to take my boot off, but I had to immediately see how bad my foot was injured. Keep in mind, it bled thru my sock & ankle tape.

“I will most likely have to miss some ring time due to WWE’s stringent health & wellness policies. I’m sorry if I do guys & gals.”

Matt Hardy talks about brother Jeff coming back to WWE

In a chat on Fancast.com yesterday, Matt Hardy said he believes his brother Jeff will be back in WWE. Matt said: "It's one of those things. Jeff can't handle the schedule right now. I think it's not going to be a long-term thing. I think as soon as his body heals up and he gets it together, he'll be back in the WWE again."

Matt then said he would like to see TNA's Sting and AJ Styles in WWE. As far as Sunday's epic match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker goes, Matt predicts The Undertaker to win. Matt also said he would debut a bit of a new look with new pants and arm covers at Sunday's big show.

WWE insiders dispute claims regarding Helms/Hardy/Jericho incident

While no one is publicly contesting that Gregory Helms, Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy were involved in some sort of incident prior to Helms and Jericho getting arrested for public intoxication, wrestling insiders are disputing some portions of the story.

TMZ's most recent report alleges that Helms struck Jericho, another man (Gary Kelley) and a female (Ashley Storer). The gossip website's story says that Helms and Hardy fled the scene following the incident, only for Helms to soon return to the Kentucky gas station where he and Jericho were subsequently arrested.

F4WOnline.com, however, says wrestling insiders are disputing the claim that Helms struck the woman. The story also claims that Hardy only ran from the cab in an attempt to retrieve Helms; according to those sources, he was not trying to "get away" with anything.

-- As an additional update, it was reportedly CM Punk and Christian who posted bond to get Jericho and Helms released from custody.

News on the Big Change to Tonight's Bragging Rights PPV

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The change in the Bragging Rights main event with Team SmackDown was a decision made by Vince McMahon at an October 20th production meeting. Vince saw the two original teams together in the ring on RAW last Monday and felt that the SmackDown team looked too weak.

The changing of that match was all the big talk after this week’s SmackDown tapings. A lot of people were wondering why officials went with the original team in the first place and some were joking about the way the change went down. When everyone arrived at the tapings on Tuesday, they were told about the match between the old team and the new team with the planned finish being Matt Hardy hitting Shad Gaspard with a Twist of Fate to get the win. Shad was backstage and appeared to be fine but after finding out the match change, he became very sick and went back to his hotel room. Some were speculating that Shad got “sick” because he didn’t want to lose clean to Hardy on TV.

“A year or so from now, Jeff will be a bigger star and celebrity than he’s ever been-we locked him into a major project this week.”

“Nothing is gonna happen to Jeff, he’s a victim of a corrupt scam-the truth is coming out, and will come out in it’s entirety in the future.”

“I believe in keeping my true peeps on the pulse of what’s going on with myself & Jeff-you deserve it because you’ve made us who we are, thx.”

The Lowdown on the 15 Wrestler Trade in WWE

WWE’s website has the full details on the 15 Superstar trade that was approved by Donald Trump. Here are the full roster changes:

New Members of RAW
: Evan Bourne, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, Gail Kim, Alicia Fox

New Members of Smackdown
: Matt Hardy, Finlay, Tyson Kidd, Natalya, David Hart Smith

New Members of ECW
: Shelton Benjamin, Goldust, William Regal, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella

The decision to implement the fifteen-Superstar WWE roster trade was reportedly made sometime in the past week. One of the trade’s biggest implications concerned the ECW Championship. The original plan called for Jack Swagger to win the title at The Bash in the Championship Scramble. Instead, WWE opted to move Swagger to RAW, where he will feud with fresh babyfaces.

Backlash Coverage Match Four: Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy in an "I Quit" Match

Brother vs Brother was on display once again on Backlash, as Matt Hardy took on Jeff Hardy in an "I Quit" match in the fourth match of the night. Here's our breakdown of the battle.

Matt: Ok, as expected, the best match by far to this point. A little goofy at the end, but overall this was a pretty good match. The focal point as of late has been on Jeff leaving the company, but in the end of this one, they made him look strong, so I wonder if he's having second thoughts. I can't see this thing going on, but you never know, I could see Matt getting one more piece of his brother, and having a cage or some crazy blow off TLC match at "Extreme Rules."

John: For a match that should feature brutality in order to make the opposition quit, we would not be treated to such actions tonight. It took way too long to get to a poor ending. We saw multiple submission moves in order to get the desired results that culminated in Jeff tying Matt to a table. Matt wold beg for mercy and quit, but Jeff would leap frog off a ladder onto the trapped brother. This should end this feud and by the looks of it there is no more gas leff in this tank.

Is the Hardy vs Hardy Feud Done?

In the first-ever Stretcher Match on Friday Night SmackDown this week, Jeff Hardy faced his own brother in an emotion-charged battle. Just like their Extreme Rules Match at WrestleMania XXV, it was Matt who walked away victorious. Following the match, Matt sent his own brother hurling back down the ramp, causing the stretcher to smash into the ring below. The feud between Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy was expected to be a short-term deal, so last night’s Stretcher Match was more than likely the blow-off to the program.

In a behind the scenes tidbit regarding their match at WrestleMania, privately, the two brothers were expecting to steal the show, even with Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels on the card. However, they were also given the caveat that it depended on if they were given enough time to do so. Ultimately, their match only lasted 13 minutes.

WrestleMania 25 in Review - Match #4 - Extreme Rules: Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy

Match four of WrestleMania 25 took on a family feel, as it was brother vs brother as Matt and Jeff Hardy did battle in Extreme Rules. Here's our breakdown of the latest match at Mania:

Matt Loede:This was more brutal than I thought, but at the same time, it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Give it to Jeff for trying though, it's amazing that at the end of the day he's even able to walk given all the crazy moves that he misses. As for Matt, the only thing I can say is that he did a solid job here, and all I can think is that they are going to keep this thing going. Overall, a good ending, and a cool visual with Matt doing the Twist of Fate on Jeff on the chair. I thought this would be the end of this feud, but I guess not.

John Sefcik:Now that's extreme. Hey ECW, take note and return to your roots. How does Jeff Hardy walk away from a failed drop off the high ladder and twist of fate while his head is in a chair. The length these two went to in this match is unbelievable. They definitely picked up interest in Mania after the great opening with Money in the Bank. If they continue this feud it will be hard to top this match. We'll have to wait and see were this goes from here. Hopefully both Hardy's will avoid any major injury trying to keep the momentum going.
