WWE’s European video distributor Silvervision has released details and a content listing for WWE’s upcoming DVD set on professional wrestling’s greatest aerialists, Wrestling Highest Flyers. The DVD set notably features several WWE, WCW and ECW matches not previously released on video.

Among those featured on the DVD’s artwork are Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne. To view its cover, click here.

The Sun reports that the late Eddie “Umaga” Fatu was set to return to WWE by the end of the year of early 2010 had he passed a screening test. One source expected Umaga to return at the Royal Rumble.

Umaga had two strikes against him with WWE and was released this year after refusing to enter rehab. Had he returned to WWE, his previous two offenses would have remained.

F4Wonline.com also reports that Hulk Hogan wanted to bring Umaga to TNA following the Hulkamania tour last month. Apparently Umaga told people there was no way he was going to TNA and he was headed back to WWE.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Edward "Umaga" Fatu passed away around 6PM EST in a Houston hospital. Apparently he suffered his second heart attack and didn't make it through. He was 36.

WWE has confirmed Fatu's passing on their website with the following:

WWE would like to express its deepest condolences to Mr. Fatu’s family, friends and fans on his tragic passing. Mr. Fatu was under contract with WWE at various time periods and most recently performed under the name "Umaga." Mr. Fatu's contract was terminated on June 11, 2009.

Condolences go out to the Fatu family and friends.

In a shocker - Umaga was released Monday from his WWE contract. PWInsider.com reports that WWE sources say it was “a situation where he just had to be let go.” What that quote means is anyone’s guess because the sources didn‘t specify, but there have apparently been behavior-related issues with Umaga in the past.

Umaga is telling people he left under his own free will, and while that could be true, it seems unlikely as he just made his return and worked hard to come back.

There have been a lot of people in the company worried about losing their jobs as of late. Vince is said to be even more hyper or “insane” than usual and it’s a very tough time to be a member of the WWE staff. Vince is said to be more short-tempered than usual and is changing his mind on issues very frequently and frantically. Vince is usually much nicer to the wrestlers than the staff, possibly due to the fact most of them are physically bigger than him. Some sources feel that when Vince is mad at a wrestler for doing something, he doesn’t chew out the wrestler but rather takes it out on a staff member like an assistant or a TV announcer. Vince is famous for taking out his anger on Michael Cole and former WWE announcer Mick Foley, both of whom are described as very nice guys by their co-workers. This treatment is what apparently lead to Foley leaving WWE for TNA and becoming one of TNA’s top draws. Mick Foley, alongside Sting, helped set new TNA iMPACT viewership records leading into the company’s Lockdown 2009 PPV.

PWInsider.com reports that people in the company feel RAW is “boring” is right now, but since Vince is directing creative, nobody says anything. The feeling is that even if you suggest something minor that is logical and would improve the show, you could get chewed out by the boss for it.

On a side note, WWE management is back on a kick to prevent leaks to the internet. Finding moles within the company staff and creative team is back to a top priority.

The 2009 edition of Judgement Day is underway in Chicago, and the first match is hometown boy C.M. Punk vs Umaga. Here is our review of the opener of the annual May WWE PPV.

John: A good start to the event with good display of old fashioned hard knock wrestling. I felt it was a bit of a surprise to let Umanga win as this match was in Punk's home town. Also, other than this minor feud there would not seem to be much in it for Umaga. With Money in the bank you know Punk will get his title chance, but Umanga has a long way to go till he returns to main event status.

Matt: Well, so much for the hometown boy winning here. A solid opener between two solid guys in Punk and Umaga, but it would have been tough for me to believe Punk getting over, even in his home state. I still have no real idea of the long-term direction they have for Umaga, but this was an impressive return, and I think squashes any thoughts on having him turn face, which is the right thing to do. He's a good heel, and having him win strong here was the right thing to do. I still wonder if we'll see Punk later on in the evening.

According to live reports from tonight’s SmackDown taping at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Mohegan Sun, Connecticut, Umaga appeared to be shaken up in his main event match against WWE Champion Triple H that will air on this week’s edition of SmackDown. We were told it appeared that he tweaked his knee, causing the referee to throw up the “X” signal. We have not been able to confirm whether or not the injury is serious but will keep you updated.

He's advertised to face The Undertaker in what is being billed as a "first time meeting" on December 5th at the SmackDown/ECW show in Greenville, SC. WWE SmackDown Superstar Umaga returned to the ring at last night's Florida Championship Wrestling TV tapings in Tampa, Florida in a match against Black Pain. This was Umaga's first match back since going down with a PCL injury that required him to take some time off to rehab.

Also appearing at the tapings last night were Edge, former TNA wrestler Tomko, WWE World Champion Chris Jericho, Batista and Kelly Kelly.

- JR on why Dustin "Goldust" Runnels isn't given credit: Perhaps we should have a parade in his honor. Only kidding. Dustin pulled off the Goldust persona extremely well, if you will, and better than any one I can think of doing the bizarre characterization. Sometimes art imitates life.

- JR on DH Smith: He's still in school learning his trade. No one should be in any hurry and allow Smith to be called up when he is truly ready. Yes, I believe he has tremendous potential but how good he becomes is really up to him and how hard he works at improving not unlike any other young wrestler.

- JR on Melina: I hear she is healing nicely and is likely to still be out a few more months to allow her heel to heal properly. We all miss her I assure you.

- JR on Umaga and Super Crazy, Jimmy Wang & tag teams: Umaga will be back in action on Friday Night Smackdown soon. If it was as simple as Jimmy Yang and Super Crazy solving the lack of interest in tag team wrestling, I am all for it. Hopefully Carlito and Primo are a step in the right direction as Primo seems to especially have great "fire" and charisma.

- JR on signs fans bring to shows: I like the majority of the signs the fans bring. Some are offensive and shouldn't be allowed to appear on TV and that's not a "freedom of speech" issue. Some insecure fans make hurtful or perverse signs just to garner attention for themselves. However, in general I have great respect for the fans who take the time to make funny and nicely done signs. I got no clue regarding the "Pork" signs but I have a general idea.

- JR on AJ Styles: He's a very good hand but it is much too early in his career to consider him as becoming a "legend" or a HOF'er.

According to WWE.com, SmackDown star Umaga underwent surgery this week to repair his posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). Umaga was injured at a SmackDown house show in Johnson City, Tennessee last week when he fell out of the ring onto his knee. He will be out for four to six weeks.

It’s a severe understatement to say that former World Heavyweight Champion Edge is upset about losing the title to CM Punk when the Straightedge Superstar cashed in his Money in the Bank opportunity. But the Ultimate Opportunist has another chance at fixing some gold around his waist when he takes on WWE Champion Triple H at The Great American Bash.

After a fight with his fiancée, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, Edge said he’ll make his championship run alone. Will the WWE Universe see a wedding on Friday? Or did the Rated-R Superstar mean it when he suggested calling the whole thing off?

Also on SmackDown, Michelle McCool emerged victorious in a Golden Dreams Match against Cherry, Kelly Kelly, Victoria and Maryse. The All-American Diva will face Natalya to determine who will be the first-ever Divas Champion. Will SmackDown’s top Diva, as voted by the WWE Universe, hold the gold? With the exception of Umaga to SmackDown, the closest thing to a surefire move was Rey Mysterio to Raw. Officials actually made the decision a few weeks ago while SmackDown writer Michael Hayes was away on suspension. Hayes wanted to keep Mysterio on SmackDown, but he had to give him up to Raw in order to land Jeff Hardy, and as most of you know, Hayes is close to the Hardys. Although, SmackDown later lost Matt Hardy to ECW. Matt was moved over to ECW because the feeling was that if the two brothers appeared on the same brand, they would have to be a tag team, and Vince doesn't want to push them as a tag team at the moment, even if they are incredibly over with the fans. Vince doesn't believe in pushing tag teams as he prefers focusing on singles competitors. Also, with ECW losing CM Punk and Kane to Raw, they obviously needed someone to soften the blow, and that person was Matt Hardy.

All I can say about the Draft is one simple word - Wow. Yes, the WWE took a look at it's product, falling ratings, and lack of buzz from it's fan base, and in one night, took the company and turned it upside down. Putting champions on different shows at a rather alarming pace, making changes in the announcer booths, and even a fitting ending to a money giveaway that was putting people to sleep each week, the WWE took some major chances last night, but in the end, they are all for the better.

Let's face it, since WrestleMania, and some will say even before, the product the company was putting out on TV three times per week was not exactly making people do jumping jacks. It was poorly scripted TV, with matches we had seen time after time, and no real commitment to pushing or making new stars. I don't know for sure that just because a bunch of talent switched brands last night that all will change, but the attitude right off the bad seems to be that it will.

You could also tell two people in the company that at least on the show seemed none to happy to be moving from Monday to Friday nights. The first was announcer Jim Ross, who was a staple on Monday nights for years, and now will take over the SmackDown play-by-play with Mick Foley on Fridays. With the onus on the talent not knowing they would be moved, Ross seemed almost shell-shocked, as did pal and color man Jerry Lawler, when the move was made.

The move to put Michael Cole on Monday's is fine with me. He's done it before, and I don't think that the show will lose anything because of it. Ross on Friday night will add a different dynamic, and I for one will be interested in seeing the switch and how it plays out. Ross is a Hall of Famer and true professional, and I think in the end he'll make the move and do what he's paid to do, which is tell a story to the fans at home through words.

As for the other major switch, Triple H will leave the comfort zone of RAW and also will move to Friday nights. Now there is no way with the power that HHH has within the company that he didn't know about this move up front. As a matter a fact, he was probably the one that pushed for it, realizing that moving brands would make him by far the top notch player on Friday nights, and not having to compete with John Cena on RAW for that title.

What the draft will do in the end is open up spots for talent to take their stuff to the next level. Wrestlers like Matt Hardy (now on ECW), Ken Kennedy (SmackDown), Umaga (SmackDown), Rey Mysterio (RAW), and others will have a shot to take their careers up a serious notch. As for dumping the "McMahon's Millions," - let's just say that it dumped two weeks too late.

WWE has had plans to move Lance Cade into a higher profile role for the past few months, they were just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger and it came this past Monday when he did a run-in during the main event in a beat down of John Cena & Triple H. At least at one point, WWE's plan was to move Cade into an upper midcard heel role on Raw, replacing Umaga's spot on Raw, who has been tapped to move to SmackDown. All this explains why Cade was distanced from former tag team partner Trevor Murdoch.

Monday night in San Antonio the WWE will hold what has become one of its most anticipated shows of the year, as they will have a three-hour "draft " in which they will move a number of wrestlers from one brand to another. This event has been watered down a bit, as in the last year wrestlers have jumped from brand to brand week to week anyway, but nevertheless, this should be a fun event and a good show.

Of course we're expecting with a small spike in the ratings this past week to have another "Million Dollar Giveaway," which will do nothing more than give the fast forward buttons on DVR's all across the country a workout. With that, here are some predictions for the draft Monday night that will make up RAW.

Leaving RAW
--------------------

Carlito to ECW - Talk about someone in the doghouse, yet again. Carlito has continued to be outspoken about his role in the company, and a move to ECW may actually revive his struggling career, and a run at the ECW title may not be a bad idea for this 2nd generation star.

JBL to SmackDown - JBL had his most memorable run on the Friday night show, as he was the shows top star and champion for some time before dropping it to John Cena to start his run. He's not doing much on RAW, and a move back to Friday's could freshen up his wrestling career.

Melina to SmackDown - She's in a heated feud with Beth Phoenix, but they can end that quickly and move her to Friday's, where she'll be a solid addition as they seem bent on building up the women's division and creating another women's title.

Santino Marella to ECW - He's mostly known for his recent comedy on RAW with Roddy Piper, but Marella can wrestle, and he's just the type of mid-card guy that can move to ECW and put his career back on track vs guys like C.M. Punk and Tommy Dreamer.

Snitsky to SmackDown - Caught in a numbers game on RAW, Snitsky has gone back to being a guy that is mostly used in losing tag matches, and over on SmackDown he can at least give US Champ Matt Hardy a decent challenge for a few weeks.

Super Crazy to ECW - A former ECW star, Super Crazy would actually make a decent addition to the show, and its a show that needs faces, so he fits the bill as a mid-card face that can at least get some TV time.

Umaga to SmackDown - This has been rumored since Mania 24, and we'll go with it. Umaga has run his course on RAW, and a move to SmackDown would create some new feuds for the Samoan vs guys like Batista, Undertaker and a returning Rey Mysterio.

Leaving SmackDown

Big Show to ECW - I can see Show topping Kane for the ECW strap at the "Night of Champions," so a move back to Tuesday nights, where he was champ for some time before leaving the company for a year, is for sure in the cards.

Chuck Palumbo to ECW - Much like Snitsky, Palumbo is a mid-card heel that can get a push by moving to the companies third brand and trying some new matches against guys he has not faced before.

Eve Torres to RAW - This former Diva search winner will get a chance to strut her stuff vs some of Monday night's best on the franchise show.

Jamie Noble to RAW - Always good at taking bumps, Noble will be an addition mostly for people to come in and defeat as a mid to low level card jobber.

Natalya to RAW - I think she's going to be part of the new "youth" faction that they are putting together with Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, DH Smith and Lance Cade. The group needs a womans touch, so why not Jim's daughter?

Vladimir Kozlov to ECW - Just a guess here, but they have been building him up slowly on SmackDown, so a move to ECW would put him right in a title mix with Kane, Big Show, and others.

Leaving ECW
---------------------

Chavo Guerrero to SmackDown - He'll get a chance to be with sister-in-law Vicki Guerrero, and can continue his feud with US champ Matt Hardy. His time on ECW has run cold, so a move to Friday's would work.

Bam Neely to RAW - In the mold of a Snitsky, Neely can get a chance to come to the top rated show of the company and get some mid-card work and maybe get a small push to challenge some of the better faces on the show.

Elijah Burke to RAW - He has a ton of ability, it just seems like he's in this serious rut on ECW, and a move to RAW could make him get his career back on track, and maybe he can even find a partner to challenge for the tag belts.

C.M. Punk to SmackDown - Kind of a no-brainer, Punk is heading towards a semi main event feud with Edge after he drops the belt to Taker upon his return. I think he also looks to cash that "Money in the Bank" match in sometime while on Friday nights.

Street Fight begins as McMahon's Million Dollar Mania continues
June 16, 2008

On Monday night, Raw will make itself at home in Salt Lake City, as WWE Champion Triple H and John Cena continue to circle one another like junkyard dogs, spoiling for their title match at Night of Champions. This week, Cena will face Umaga in a Street Fight. Surely The Game will be watching as his Night of Champions opponent meets the Samoan Bulldozer on Raw.

Just two weeks ago, Cena defeated Jeff Hardy to become the No. 1 contender. Last week saw Triple H sweep Cena’s legs out from under him after the Chain Gang Commander’s victory over JBL. Then, in the night’s main event between The Game and Jeff Hardy, Cena interfered, causing Triple H to lose by count-out. With less than two weeks before Night of Champions, will anything keep these two fierce competitors from annihilating one another? Will Cena's Street Fight with Umaga affect his strategy going into Night of Champions?

An appearance by Shawn Michaels on Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel quickly turned ugly when Y2J attacked The Showstopper. Their rivalry had been building for the past few weeks as Jericho alternately accused HBK of faking an injury and then encouraged him in a match against Batista. What is the purpose of the mind games that the Intercontinental Champion is playing with Michaels, and how will Michaels react to being attacked last Monday night?

Also last week, World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes suffered their second defeat in a row, this time at the hands of Umaga & Snitsky. While recovering after the match, the champs were again confronted by Raw’s newest Superstar, Ted DiBiase. The “simply priceless” DiBiase warned them that at Night of Champions, he and a partner of his choosing will prevail over the World Tag Team Champions. With the ongoing strife between Holly & Rhodes, will they be able to stand up to DiBiase and his mystery partner? And who will that partner turn out to be?

As temperatures run high on Raw, surely in the back of all the Superstars’ minds are thoughts of the impending WWE Draft. In less than two weeks, all Superstars from all brands will be eligible to be drafted to another show. Who will get selected to leave Raw and which of your favorite Superstars will begin appearing on Monday nights?

But, your biggest reason to tune into Raw this week is no doubt the continuation of McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania. The reports are all true: Mr. McMahon is giving away his own money. WWE has made the following changes and additions to the upcoming tour of Mexico:

On 5/21 in Monterrey, Triple H faces JBL for the WWE title, plus Chris Jericho vs. Kennedy for the IC title and John Cena and Shawn Michaels vs. Snitsky and Umaga.

5/22 in Queretearo, has Triple H vs. John Cena vs. Umaga vs. JBL for the title match, plus Michaels vs. Kennedy and Jericho defending the IC title against Snitsky.

5/23 in Mexico City, Triple H squares off with Umaga, Cena and HBK vs. JBL and Kennedy and Y2J vs. Cade.

5/24 in Mexico City will feature Jericho defending the IC title against Umaga.

With one week till Judgement Day in St.Louis, some things are shaping up for the week ahead on WWE TV. First we already have learned via the WWE.com site that Bobby Lashley will take on Jonathan Coachman on tomorrown night's edition of RAW. This match will likely be an ugly squash, but on the other hand, I can see some big time outside interference from Mr.McMahon, Umaga and Shane-O-Mac giving a preview for Sunday's show.

Also reports say that the official announcment will be made tomorrow night for a match we all could see coming for next Sunday - Carlito vs Ric Flair. Last week Flair was not on the show, but he will be tomorrow night, and the two will have a staredown of sorts that will end with the match becoming official.

I would guess that we will also see some sort of showdown between Khali and John Cena, setting up their match next week. I can't wait to see how these two co-exist, as I think that they still need some major work to be done to be able to sell it for fans next Sunday. I see a train wreck coming for this match.

Then we also will have a "good-bye" for Edge from RAW, as now as the World Heavyweight Champion, he is going over to SmackDown, where he will defend the title next Sunday vs Batista. I would think it would be just what it is - a good-bye, and then I wouldn't eb shocked if we see Batista show up for a little beatdown to give their match some steam for Sunday at the PPV.
