Official Raw " Southern Roots" Preview from WWE.Com

When Raw travels south to Mobile, Ala., this week, Jeff Hardy will have family on his mind. Last week, Hardy proved that his Royal Rumble challenger, Randy Orton, may have gotten under his skin when he assaulted his brother, Matt, but he didn’t get inside his head. The “Rainbow-haired Warrior” defeated Umaga in a Steel Cage Match as the WWE Champion looked on. What other dirty tricks does Orton have up his sleeve for his opponent? What will Hardy do to get back at the man who went after his brother?

In other action, Triple H brutalized William Regal last week in a First Blood Match for helping to put him out of the Royal Rumble. Unfortunately for the Raw General Manager, The Game appears to be on a mission and may not be finished getting even with him just yet. Just how much more punishment can a frustrated Triple H dole out?

The rivalry between Chris Jericho and JBL also continued to gather steam last week when the Lonestar Loudmouth interfered in their Handicap Match as Jericho tangled with Snitsky. JBL ruthlessly attacked Y2J by dragging him on the floor with a TV cable. Has JBL’s loathing for Jericho blinded him with rage? Just how will Y2J exact his revenge?

Official Raw Roulette Preview from WWE.Com

As Raw heads to Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun gaming resort this Monday, “Raw Roulette” will make its return after a nearly five-year absence. And if past Roulettes are any indication, the first Raw of the New Year could be the most unpredictable of 2008.

Originally devised by then-Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff, Superstars will “gamble” their matches on a spin of a gigantic wheel, full of various matches and stipulations. The Superstars must compete in whatever match the wheel falls upon.

The wheel’s categories of matches are decided by the Chairman and General Manager beforehand. The two previous incarnations of Raw Roulette in October 2002 and November 2003 have created very unique – and entertaining – competition among the Superstars.

In 2002 in Las Vegas, the wheel brought forth matches such as:

  • A Vegas Street Fight, which involved a pair of giant dice as a weapon.
  • A Vegas Showgirls Match, which involved current Raw GM William Regal and Goldust dressed in showgirl attire and makeup.
  • An It’s Legal In Nevada Match, in which Steven Richards and Jerry “The King” Lawler fought to win a “ride” on The Godfather’s Ho Train.
  • A combo Bra & Panties / Paddle on a Pole Match, in which Trish Stratus spanked Stacy Keibler with the paddle.

The 2003 edition of Raw Roulette in Salt Lake City saw unique matches such as:

  • A Divas Steel Cage Match between Lita and Victoria.
  • A Capture the Midget Match between The Hurricane and Rosey, in which they competed to capture a fleeing midget named Fernando throughout the night.
  • A Strange Bedfellows Match, which paired fierce rivals on the same tag team against another team of unlikely partners.

The unpredictability of the wheel creates chaos for the Superstars, since they can’t prepare for their matches in advance. And with Superstars chasing Royal Rumble Match spots, championship gold or trying to keep their legendary careers alive, that one spin of the wheel can make a world of difference.

Who knows what entertaining chaos Raw Roulette will provide Monday at Mohegan Sun Arena? Tune in 9/8 CT on USA Network and find out live on Raw.

Official RAW Preview from WWE.com

After scores are settled and titles were decided at Armageddon, our Superstars will “wing” it to Buffalo, N.Y., and the HSBC Arena for Monday Night Raw.

WWE Champion Randy Orton almost failed to weather the assault from challenger Chris Jericho. It took the surprising interference from SmackDown commentator John Bradshaw Layfield to allow Orton to escape with his gold via disqualification. Why did JBL attack Jericho? Will the self-proclaimed “wrestling god” appear on Raw and address the controversial ending to the WWE Championship Match?

And what does Jericho have to say about all of this? Will Y2J seek revenge on the Legend Killer and/or JBL on the shores of Lake Erie?

Orton already knows who he’ll defend his WWE Championship against at the Royal Rumble in January. Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy stunned the Mellon Arena crowd with a victory over Triple H to earn a WWE Championship opportunity at the Rumble next month. What does Orton have to say about his upcoming challenge? How will Triple H react to Hardy’s upset win? Will he want a rematch from the “Rainbow-Haired Warrior?”

And the title train keeps on rolling for Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix. Can anyone in the Divas locker room rise up and upset the Glamazon to take her gold?

Find out as Monday Night Raw airs from Buffalo, N.Y., at 9/8 CT, live on USA Network.
