Batista Speaks of Eddie Guerrero, Takes Shot at WWE

In a statement posted on Twitter today, former WWE Champion Batista remembers Eddie Guerrero on the anniversary of his death 6 years ago today. The following are highlights:

"Got a text from my homie @sonnyblowdro when I woke up asking me if I was ok, I assumed he was referring to Manny's fight last night. I automatically got defensive!! Styles make fights! Manny always has trouble with Marquez!! He still won!! Then when he said he wasn't asking because of Manny I quickly realized that today was Nov.13th....the day Eddie Guerrero was taken from us 6 years ago.

As plain as day I can still hear Angie scream and then look at me and say "i just got a message from Dr.Rios.....Eddie's dead". I wish I could erase that from my memory. I haven't found closure on this. I don't think I ever will. I know alot of people won't. It bugs the shit out of me that there's millions of young wrestling fans who won't get to see how brilliant Eddie was in the ring. He's the only guy I know who could have you in tears laughing and then make you want to rip his head off within minutes. What I personally loved most about Eddie was that he didn't define people by their mistakes. he made alot and he never forgot that. He didn't pass judgement...which is so common in the HOLIER THAN THOU world of the WWE.

Eddie was also the slowest walking human being alive...which always amused the hell out of me for some reason. I don't know how he ever got anywhere!! I could go on and on but I'll end it by saying this. Eddie..I miss you, I love you, and you are gone but never forgotten. RIP my brother."

Triple H Being Advertisited for Money in the Bank

Arguably the biggest WWE superstar will be returning at Money in the Bank 2011. An email blast sent out by the WWE advertises the return of Triple H. It is unknown whether The Game will lace up the boots or just making a non-ring appearance on July 17.

It is no secret that Triple H is in the midst of winding down his in-ring professional wrestling career. The WWE recently announced that the former world champion is the new head of WWE talent development. The Game has spent his time recently helping craft the debut and signings of Sin Cara and Kharma and is currently working with upcoming talent on the WWE roster.

It will be interesting to see if Triple H makes some kind of a return to active action whether it is part time or full time. It has been well over a year since Triple H has been a regular performer on the WWE roster. Triple H disappeared last year after a feud with Sheamus and didn’t reappear until nine months later, when he returned to WWE RAW as part of the infamous 2-21-11 RAW surprise.

If less is more, Triple H is certainly making the most of his twilight years as a professional wrestler. Triple H wrestled his first match in over eleven months at WrestleMania 27. Triple H vs. The Undertaker has been regarded in some circles as one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history, and was arguably the show stealer at this year’s WrestleMania. Triple H made one more appearance the night after WrestleMania 27 but has disappeared into the dungeons of Titan Towers ever since.

The WWE has a tough dilemma with Triple H. The talent pool has never been thinner and the only two superstars on the WWE rosters are Randy Orton and John Cena. Triple H would certainly be a welcome boost to the company roster. On the other hand, the company really needs to utilize this down period to build new stars. Bringing back Triple H is certainly a step in the wrong direction if the WWE hopes to prepare for the future.

This could also be the start of a big SummerSlam 2011 angle. There were rumors of a planned Triple H vs. The Undertaker SummerSlam match. I have heard from a few different sources that the WWE would move faster with a rematch rather than sit on it and commit this early to another WrestleMania 28 match. Of course the other side to this is that it gives Triple H the chance to get his win back without compromising the streak. While a WrestleMania 28 rematch could still be on the table, it also gives the WWE freedom to jump on an opportunity if it presents itself like an Undertaker vs. Sting, Brock Lensar, Batista, etc match.

Of course I have no idea what Triple H could do at this point back in the WWE. After all, he did say nothing else matters other than ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak didn’t he?

WWE Money in the Bank 2011 takes place July 17 in Chicago, Ill. at Allstate Arena.

Latest Blog from Jim Ross

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

Nexus:
“The Nexus storyline has been one of the better ones in the WWE in a long while. Now as it maturates and moves forward guys like Justin Gabriel, who had a nice bout with Orton Monday Night, needs to become known for more than his dynamic 450 Splash. Same for Otunga and Slater. What are their lasting claims to fame going to be? Now is a pivotal time for these members of NXT to begin to erase the prominent ‘sidekick’ logo that’s figuratively stamped on their foreheads and either take a more impactful role with NXT leader Wade Barrett or begin to subtly move away from Barrett’s reign.”

WWE Bragging Rights: “Why is it exactly that MNR and SDown have such a fierce rivalry? What’s at stake other than ‘Bragging Rights?’ Has SD been bragging about their tag team victory since last year’s PPV? Would it be more viable if something tangible was at stake to the winning team in the Raw vs. Smackdown Tag Bout on the October 24 PPV that emanates from Minneapolis?”

Batista Doing MMA: “As I have written before, Dave Bautista is serious about his MMA career and is realistic in that Dave knows that by getting such a late start in the game that he will have to accelerate his training and then maximize the time that he has to be physically productive in a MMA environment. UFC would not be a good place to seek employment for Dave but his negotiations with Strikeforce do make sense. If the two sides can strike a win/win financial deal and Showtime finally figures out how to promote a fight and make it be perceived as special while at the same time build a star on all the platforms that are available to them, then a Bautista-Strikeforce arrangement could help all involved.”

More on Batista Leaving the WWE

One of the reasons Batista’s relationship went south with WWE is because he had a four-picture agreement with David DeFalco, the guy who directed Wrong Side of Town with Batista and RVD, and was given the OK by John Laurinaitis to take time off to film the movies. When Laurinaitis told Vince McMahon, Vince said he couldn’t take time off as long as he was under a contract.

Batista’s talks with Strikeforce have been going on but it’s said that they can’t agree on money. TMZ noted yesterday that Batista has lots of movie and TV offers. They also noted that people in his camp weren’t happy when Booker T said he wouldn’t do good in MMA and that Bobby Lashley could beat him.

Batista Wasn't Happy with WWE Direction

PW Insider has the latest on Batista and his thoughts towards the WWE:

Former WWE star Batista was at the Strikeforce event in Los Angeles, California last night. He was telling those who asked that he left the company because he was unhappy and didn't see himself going back anytime soon. He's been training in MMA, but I don't think he'll realistically compete and has been going out on auditions.

The reason for Batista's RAW exit

Batista had originally agreed to work WWE live events until late June but when he suffered the back and tailbone injuries at Over the Limit, the decision was made to have finish up on last Monday’s RAW. Most everyone in the company is under the impression that he will be back soon, likely in time for WrestleMania 27.

The latest on Batista's WWE future

Batista’s future with WWE is being kept a secret from almost everyone in the company.

While the main reason they changed the Over the Limit stipulation from Loser Leaves Town was because of TNA doing the same match with Tara vs. Madison Rayne, they also felt that Loser Leaves Town wouldn’t be good in case Batista wanted to return quicker than expected.

The Stip for Batista-Cena at Over the Limit

The talk within WWE is that the stipulation for John Cena vs. Batista at Over the Limit may be Loser Leaves WWE, depending on if Batista is really about to leave WWE or not. Word is that WWE creative was told in the last few days about TNA doing a similar stipulation with Tara on their pay-per-view. When this was brought up to creative, there was talk of possibly changing the stipulation from Loser Leaves WWE.

Backstage Problems with Batista and Rey Mysterio

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- Batista and Rey Mysterio are the most talked about within WWE right now as far as "problems" go.

Batista is upset because WWE removed him from the movie due to uncertainty about his future with the company. Mysterio, who has a long time left on his contract, is apparently making a fuss again about money.

WWE has been trying to make a new Mexican star in case something happens with Mysterio and he leaves the company. WWE realizes that Mexico is it's hottest market right now. Dos Caras, even though he has been working as a heel, was brought on the road with WWE because there is a directive that the company wants a new Mexican star rolling as quickly as possible.

Latest on tonight being Batista's last WWE Match

Source: PWInsider.com

The word within the WWE locker room in Baltimore, which plays host to tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV, is that Batista will be finishing up with the company this week. Batista is set to challenge John Cena tonight in a last man standing match for the Championship.

Batista made headlines dating back to this past January when he made it known he was ready to retire within the year, after being burnt out and his aspirations to become a movie star. A majority of the WWE crew arrived early this weekend in Baltimore for the PPV and those within the backstage area believe Batista’s career in the WWE will come to an end shortly following the Extreme Rules PPV.

While this all remains speculation, there is great belief that Batista will indeed retire from the Pro Wrestling ring. Stay tuned as we continue to gather information.

WrestleMania 26 Predictions

We've been in the desert since Wednesday night, and now it's time to give you some final predictions for the big show tonight:

The Streak vs. The Career

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels

This should be the main event, but word is it won't. Michales has been talking about retiring for awhile, and the Taker streak is the one real thing left in the business. Taker wins an emotional match, better than last year.

No Holds Barred Match
Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon

As much coverage as this match is getting, this is going to be a stinker. Hart is so limited, and Vinnie Mac is getting close to 70. With that, look for a brawl, some blood, and a Hart win in about 15 min.

WWE Championship Match
Batista (c) vs. John Cena

I love the build for this match, with Cena losing and getting beat up every week, but there's no doubt the fan favorite goes over here. Cena is the face of the company, the biggest since the Rock. Look for Cena to win, get the belt back in a good match that could be last, and have a long feud with the Animal.

World Championship Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Edge

A well booked match, and again, the fan favorite should go over here, but for some reason I can see them allowing Jericho to keep this belt a little longer. Edge will get the belt at some point, but I am not sure here. Jericho wins in an upset.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Kane, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, MVP, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Jack Swagger, Matt Hardy, Drew McIntyre

The latest rumor has Drew McIntyre going over, as he seems more and more on the fast track to the top. Christian is another choice many seem to favor, but again, this is a match for an up and coming guy, and I think today that is Drew McIntyre.

United Tag Team Championship Match
Big Show and The Miz (c) vs. John Morrison and R-Truth

Slated to be the opener, and I love the team of Show and Miz, and I look for them to go over here with a win. Morrison is rumored to be going heel sometime in 2010.

Triple H vs. Sheamus

Total filler match, and while Sheamus is an up and comer, they won't allow HHH to fall here. First real filler match for HHH at Mania since 17 in Houston vs the Undertaker.

Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Cody Rhodes

I still don't see Orton as a fan favorite, and I think we could see a swerve here where in the end, Orton and Rhodes team up and beat DiBiase, pushing the son of the "Million Dollar Man" to be a face. Orton pins Ted, setting up the swerve.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

Love this match, and look for this feud to have a long run. Mysterio is slated to join the "Straight Edge" life if he loses, so I say he wins here to stay as is and then his family gets more involved as the feud goes.

10-Diva Tag Team Match
Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Gail Kim and Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool, Maryse, Layla, Alicia Fox and Vickie Guerrero

No shock they put all the ladies together for one match. With Vickie involved, look for her to get beat up, and the face ladies to get a win.

WrestleMania Update

WWE officials were still going over the match order for tomorrow’s WrestleMania 26. Believe it or not, there has at least been talk this weekend of having Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart as the last match. It was previously noted that John Cena vs. Batista was set to go on last but apparently they still haven’t decided.

Updated Card for WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV

Below is the official updated card for WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view after qualifying matches were held on last night’s SmackDown.

CM Punk earned his spot in the Chamber by defeating Batista on a count out. It was interesting how Batista lost as he just stood in the corner once the bell ring, waited and finally just left the ring and headed to the back, giving up his spot in the Elimination Chamber match.

Elimination Chamber for the WWE Title

Sheamus vs. John Cena vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Triple H vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton

Elimination Chamber for the World Heavyweight Title
Undertaker vs. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. R-Truth vs. John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio

Batista To Be Added To Rumble Title Match?

Although Batista is advertised for the Royal Rumble, it is possible he may yet be added to the Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio match. In a satellite interview to promote Royal Rumble in Mexico last week, Mysterio did say that it would be a three-way match at the PPV. Whether they are going to add Batista at the last minute or if this was only the plan for that time, we do not know.

MTV Mocks Batista at the Slammys

At Monday's WWE Slammy Awards, Batista interrupted Maria's acceptance speech for Diva of the Year in what appeared to be a parody of the infamous Kanye West - Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. "That's great, congratulations, I'm really happy for you," Batista said. "No disrespect, but let's talk about the greatest award ever: The Screwjob of the Year award, which goes to me! I got robbed last night. I should be World Heavyweight Champion, and I should be up for the Superstar of the Year award." MTV writer Kyle Anderson implied the joke is dated and has been done to death already on countless award shows since the VMAs.

Who was the Masked Man on RAW with Cedric?

The masked man on RAW a few weeks back during Cedric The Entertainer’s match was former WWE developmental talent and good friend of Batista’s, Imani Lee. Lee is also a former boxer and K-1 fighter. He was released from his WWE developmental contract in November of 2008 after being signed in May of the same year.
