DH Smith Out of Joining Legacy?

For a number of weeks there had been talk of adding DH Smith to Randy Orton’s Legacy faction, but those plans have cooled off after the twist with Vince McMahon and Orton on last Monday’s Raw.

Officials were looking to call up Smith and his tag team partner TJ Wilson to SmackDown, but their partnership quietly broke off in developmental after Smith suggested to the creative team that he be brought on board for the Legacy.

Orton himself hinted at Smith possibly joining the Legacy in an interview with ESPN.com this past week. Regarding Smith, Orton said: “One guy I’ve been looking at really closely is Harry Smith. He’s Davey Boy Smith’s son, and he’s a big, young kid who has that hunger. He’s a strong boy, and I think he’s at that age now where he’s learned from some of the mistakes he’s made in the past. He originally debuted as DH Smith, but he’s a completely different person right now. I have my eye on him, but we’ll have to see what the future holds. I need one more guy, but he has to have wrestling in his blood and he has to have that potential to one day follow in my footsteps. I won’t settle for anything less.”

New "Hart Foundation" No More

Prospective WWE wrestlers DH Smith and TJ Wilson stopped teaming up together at Florida Championship Wrestling shows a few weeks ago. For the past few weeks they've been competing in separate matches. They're apparently doing a break-up angle on FCW television to explain the sudden change as Wilson won a match due to Smith's help at last Thursday's television taping, but got angry afterwards for helping him cheat.

Also, Smith is no longer wearing the pink & black "Hart Foundation" attire, and has since gone back to his red & blue outfit.

For several weeks there was talk of calling up DH Smith and TJ Wilson (with Natalya as their manager) to SmackDown as The New Hart Foundation, but those plans have been called off.

A few weeks ago, Smith went to the creative team and pitched the idea that be brought on board as part of Randy Orton's Legacy faction. Smith is set to debut in The Legacy any week now.

Many backstage feel Smith was wrong to turn on Natalya as well as Wilson -- his best friend since childhood -- in order to get a bigger push on the bigger stage.

The Latest Tidbit on DH Smith

From: LordsofPain.net

DH Smith recently moved from Calgary to Tampa, Florida. That may explain why he hasn't been seen on Smackdown yet, even in dark matches or house shows. He was last seen in a WWE ring on the 5/5 Raw after being stretchered out following a match with John Bradshaw Layfield. However, he's worked a few shows in Florida Championship Wrestling in the meantime, teaming with long-time friend and tag team partner T.J. Wilson. According to reports, Smith and Wilson are a strong team in developmental, but at last word, WWE officials were leaning against using them as a team on television.

Update on DH Smith's Move to SmackDown

sources: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

It remains to be seen as to what happens with DH Smith now that he's on SmackDown, but most of the talk on him has been for him to continue working as a heel. With the move to SmackDown, this puts him back with Natalya, his first cousin. Regarding a possible pairing, it's doesn't look like it's happening. WWE wants to keep Natalya as a wrestler, not a manager. The feeling is that it could ruin her aura if she were to become a manager.

DiBiase Jr. to have DH Smith as his Mystery Partner at Night of Champions

From: PWPix.net

When you click Ted DiBiase's highlighted named on the preview page of the World Tag Team Championship Match between him & a mystery parter and Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions, it goes to the profile page of fellow Raw star DH Smith. You can see it at this link. Speaking of Smith, he hasn't appeared in a WWE ring since the beating he took from JBL at the 5/5 Raw over a month. It would appear that he's been taken off the road. He hasn't been appearing on too many Florida Championship Wrestling shows either, so his WWE status is currently in limbo.

Summer Heating Up and Some Great Feuds Coming with It

As John pointed out in our RAW recap, there are some programs that are starting to shape up the summer, some of which they will likely throw at us at the "Great American Bash" while others will be slowed up till "SummerSlam." The program with John Cena and HHH I think will be a three-month affair, with a singles match this month, next month, and then I predict a three-way with Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam.

The Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels feud will no doubt be a very good one, and this one very much could also be a three-month feud, ending with some special stip match at SummerSlam. While the draft is going to change a lot, one thing seems for sure - the Undertaker will be back for the big summer show, and from all indications we are hearing, it'll be him and Edge, again, for the strap at the biggest summer PPV.

Pretty much a foregone conclusion that you can see the newest heel group of young stars being built, as Ted Dibiase Jr. will get some other younger stars, including Cody Rhodes to join the group, and we think that DH Smith could also be a part. Randy Orton's name came up, but I can't see that, but if you want another 2nd generation star in that group - why not Natialie Neidhart to add a little female flair?

So there's plenty to look forward to as we continue along this summer. While the main event feuds appear set, the lesser 2nd tier feuds and where they lead us could be just as much fun as well, which is rare for this time of the year.

Battle Royale & ECW Title Match for Mania a Great Call

As we learned on ECW last night, the WWE is pushing forth with a 24-man battle royale with talent from all three brands for WM 24, and the winner of that match will take on Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title at some point during the night. Needless to say, I think this is a great move, and a great way to get the ECW belt on Maina in a meaningful match. It's going to be very interesting to see what grappler gets the win in the battle royale, and how that person fares in the title match. Smells to me like a great opportunity to get a fresh face on ECW, and for that fresh face to become champion. Here are a few wrestlers that I think could get the win and then win the title that night:

1. Charlie Haas
2. DH Smith
3. Lance Cade
4. Santino Marella
5. Super Crazy
6. Gregory Helms (should he be ready to return, which is still up in the air)
7. Jamie Noble
8. Jimmy Wang Yang
9. Kenny Dykstra
10. Kofi Kingston
11. Stevie Richards
12. Elijah Burke

Out of those 12 wrestlers, the one name that I think could be most interesting is that of Helms, who has a history with Guerrero (he lost the cruiserweight belt to him at one point) and it would be the surprise of his return, possibly as "The Hurricane" that would be a crowd pleaser.

DH Smith may be another one, despite being in the doghouse as of late, it may be time to give him a look, and while I can't really see him winning the belt, it may be a good twist to see him do well in the battle royale and lose late, or win it and then lose to Chavo setting up a feud.

Jamie Noble I think would also be a solid choice, as his time on SmackDown has been stale as of late, and again, I think he and Chavo would be a solid match with some good back and forth. The one thing I don't want to see is Big Daddy V, a returning Boogeyman, or someone like Balls Mahoney, who hasn't been heard from forever, given the win and title match.

The concept of these two matches is a great idea overall, as I think in a four-hour show you have more than enough time for them, and I think at this point the company should add a few more matches, which is why I like the addition of JBL and Finlay, and now this. Less backstage silliness, and more matches will make for a better card in my opinion.
