Mick Foley has addressed the Rock Bottom he took from The Rock on Monday's RAW. Foley tweeted on Tuesday afternoon:

"Why did (The Rock) layeth the smacketh down on my candy ass? I just wanted a hug. I bet he's feeling quite a bit of remorse right now," Foley tweeted.

How he would sum up his time in TNA:

It was frustrating. It was enjoyable. It was great for my family. It was a great way of life for three years as far as being home and not having to entertain too many commitments. But it was a little frustrating.

On getting back with another promotion like WWE:

I'm looking forward to the prospect of doing something soon on television again. I have no idea when that might be but I think it will be in the next several months.

On whether or not he would like to do broadcast work again:

(laughs) You know what? I'm not ruling it out. I'm not ruling it out. Sometimes I think at the end of my run in TNA I wonder what would have happened if I had would have been just a little more willing to accept the job under the terms, under those unusual terms that WWE broadcasters have. And the truth is JR and I would be a pretty good team and I'd be really woven into that fabric of week to week television. And I doubt that being yelled at would even bother me any more. I might be willing to give it a try. You never know. Stranger things have happened.

Mick Foley recently spoke with The Wrestling Voice and confirmed that he has been talking with WWE about a return, saying it comes down to how many dates he wants to be away from home and what will fit for his return.

Foley, who expressed interest in helping WWE’s product by working behind the scenes, also teased an appearance when WWE is in the UK this November while he will be in the country for a comedy tour. Foley added that he has a few matches left in him and is cutting weight so he can be ready to wrestle when WWE needs him.

Mick Foley when asked on Twitter if he can see himself having another match against The Undertaker. Foley replied, “Could I see me and Undertaker having one more match? Not likely, but I’m going to drop 50 lbs just in case I get the call.”

Mick Foley was asked on Twitter last night if he can see himself having another match against The Undertaker. Foley replied, “Could I see me and Undertaker having one more match? Not likely, but I’m going to drop 50 lbs just in case I get the call.”

Foley was then asked who on the WWE roster today does he think he can have a good match with. Foley said, “Not sure I can have a GREAT match with anyone, anymore. But I think I could have a GOOD last match with several guys in @WWE.”

Foley also gave his thoughts on TNA getting talent over to the mainstream after a fan asked who he thought has “it” on Impact Wrestling, enough to be a top talent like The Rock or John Cena. Foley’s thoughts: “Not trying to be mean, but I’m not sure Impact will ever be big enough to truly get a new wrestler over to the mainstream.”

Last night's episode of IMPACT WRESTLING concluded with Hulk Hogan announcing that Mick Foley had been fired as the Network Executive.

Hogan opened up a legal document and said that effective immediately, The Network has exercised the option of terminating said position. He then said to the camera, "Mick Foley, you're fired!" Hogan's theme music played and Bischoff said, "This is the happiest day of my life."

Foley lampooned news of his on-screen firing on Twitter. He wrote, "Wait, I was FIRED?!? Are you CEREAL..I mean SERIOUS?!?"

He added, "Wait, I just checked my DVR and it cut out during Bischoff's speech. I can't be fired; I just got back a few weeks ago. Right?"

Foley then teased a possible return to WWE, saying The Miz needs a new assistant (following the dismissal of Alex Riley) and he needs a new job.

He wrote, "Good point @DHStom - I think @mikethemiz might need a new assistant..and I need a new job. Interesting, huh?"

He then retweeted a fan's comment indicating that he could have appeared at Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's birthday bash rather than return to TNA for a few weeks. It read: "Good thing Mick had to stay around for 3 weeks rather than be at @TheRock 's bday bash. #baddecisions"

In accordance with the storyline, his profile has been removed from the company website's roster page. Foley, however, is still under contract to TNA. It expires in early September and he stated during an interview late last year with GeekWeek.com that he doesn't plan on renewing it. "The Hardcore Legend" said he was frustrated with communication problems inherent in the structure of the organization and that he wasn't pleased that they didn't air footage of his appearance at Jon Stewart's Rally To Restore Sanity at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Mick Foley has taped an interview with Michael Landsberg for TSN’s Off the Record that will air on November 10th. In the interview, Foley says that he believes he’s suffered permanent brain damage from his time in professional wrestling.

WWE’s website has a new interview up with TNA star Mick Foley to promote his new book, Countdown to Lockdown. Here are some highlights:

WWE.com: “A Whole New Career” may be the most interesting – and most brutally honest – chapter in your book, where you recall transitioning from being an in-ring competitor to a WWE commentator.

FOLEY: Vince had asked how I’d feel about announcing at the premiere party for Anamorph, a movie that his daughter-in-law Marissa had produced. To this day, I don’t really know if that was something he thought about and speculated on, or if he just decided to ask me at that very moment. Like I said, Vince tends to go with his gut feeling.

My immediate comment was, “I don’t know, Vince. I’ve heard about you on those headsets.” He laughed it off and said, “Actually, I’m getting better at that.” All I can say is, if what I heard represented “getting better,” then I truly feel for the announcers who had Vince produce them before he got better. [Laughs.]

WWE.com: You really go into detail as to how things degenerated from there, but you don’t do it in a nasty way; you’re just very honest and offer a lot of insight as to what it’s like to be at that announce table. Which leads us to the chapter called “The Magic Headsets” …

FOLEY: Yes, the headsets were magic because the moment you put them on, all the respect you thought you had earned seemed to disappear. [Laughs.] I like that chapter, and I think anyone who reads it will find themselves laughing. My wife enjoyed it because she thought I was getting my feelings out without being bitter.

WWE.com: Just to get this out there – because it is so surreal – you no longer work for WWE. A professional conflict with Vince McMahon is the reason you’re no longer with WWE. And who was it that offered you the opportunity to promote Countdown to Lockdown on WWE.com?

FOLEY: From what I understand, it was Vince McMahon’s decision to mention the book on Raw, and it was his decision to offer me the opportunity to talk to WWE.com. It is literally among the craziest things I’ve ever heard of. [Laughs.] I think it’s unprecedented, and it has a lot of people talking. And I’m flattered to do this. I think it shows what kind of respect Vince has for me and, deep down, he genuinely likes me and appreciates what I did when I was with the company.

TNA star Mick Foley is calling out WWE superstar Triple H for his "shallow" and "mean" joke about Lilian Garcia's appearance on RAW two weeks ago.

Garcia returned to WWE for one night to guest ring announce when the RAW crew was stranded in Europe. During the opening segment of the show, Triple H had a microphone and went over to her and said, "Even Lillian Garcia. If Lillian wants to come back here for night to the WWE just to horse around, she can do it." After Triple H's remarks, Jerry Lawler make a horse sound on commentary. Triple H's "horsing around" comment reportedly a reference to a backstage joke about Lilian that her face resembles that of a horse.

Foley wrote on his MySpace.com blog that Triple H's joke was the latest incident in a pattern of cruel on-air behavior from Vince McMahon's son in law:

"Why does someone like Triple H, one of the most talented, well paid guys in the business, do something so shallow and mean? Why would a multi-millionaire, with millions of fans around the world, feel the need (several times over the years) to say something that is only meant to hurt? I don't get it. I don't get why it's done, I don't get why it's condoned, I don't get what possible satisfaction anyone involved gets from demeaning someone like Lillian Garcia. I just don't get it."

Here is a statement from Mick Foley on leaving WWE, his future with TNA Wrestling and other opportunities:

As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. I will always be grateful to WWE for affording me so many incredible opportunities over the past thirteen years, but feel the time is right to pursue other endeavors.

I can confirm I have had discussions with TNA Wrestling and have come to a short-term agreement. I am very excited about the specifics of this agreement and the potential it holds.

Vince McMahon pulled Mick Foley from the upcoming “Legends of WrestleMania” video game in the past week or the week before. There were several other names that for some reason or another, Vince would not allow to be a part of the game, but we don’t have all of those names confirmed. The two that THQ was most unhappy about not being allowed to use were Foley and Randy Savage.

The top names in the game will probably end up being Hulk Hogan, who is confirmed, along with The Rock and Steve Austin. Andre The Giant is also confirmed for the game and Bret Hart will also probably be featured. We also know that Jim Ross has recorded voice-overs for the game. “Legends of WrestleMania” will come out in March of 2009, just in time for WrestleMania 25.

Jim Ross is back with another blog update at jrsbarbq.com. This time he took a shot and spoofed the recent story on MVP’s backstage heat over comments made to a WWE drug test monitor, that we posted on the site yesterday. Here are the highlights:

- JR on Mick Foley leaving WWE: The speculation regarding Mick Foley allowing his contract to lapse with the WWE and knowing at least a portion of Mick’s future plans has finally ended. Obviously, Mick cannot and will not be a full time wrestler for any organization but one can easily see Mick wrestling sporadically meaning once or twice a year if everyone involved in this scenario is of sound mind. Mick has many diverse, creative interests and my sense is that he is looking to explore TV opportunities that might come his way. Many of us have said for years that Mick would be great in a TV sitcom. Plus Mick has many more books left to write. No matter what Mick does I wish him only the best. It will be interesting to see how Mick is utilized and one can bet a slab of ribs that subject will be under the proverbial microscope by many within the business and more specifically the ‘rasslin media. As I see it, and remember this is merely one man’s opinion, it would appear that Mick did not burn any bridges with the WWE and a return engagement with the WWE isn’t beyond the realm of possibilities for Mick Foley in the future. No one in their right mind can argue that Mick Foley isn’t WWE Hall of Fame worthy at some point in the future.

- JR on Coach: Yours truly caught Jonathan Coachman reading the sports news on ESPN News a night or two ago. Coach looks good, relaxed and did a really nice job. I assume these anchors have to write their own copy and Coach did well there too and did not try and make the newscast about him or use forced humor.

- JR on SmackDown: Friday Night Smackdown debuts on October 3 on MyNetworkTV. I wonder if there will be any major changes on the show prior to then? Could someone be “future endeavored” prior to the debut? Will any major guests be booked for the premier? Could any trades be on tap? Why is the sky blue?

- JR spoofing the recent MVP news story: Did you hear about the MAJOR altercation in the locker room area of a recent wrestling event where a top hand had it out with a tester. Seems as if someone in catering failed to test the mashed potatoes and they weren’t creamy and buttery enough and there was quite the issue that ensued. Thank goodness that the fish that was throughly cooked that day or this matter could have gotten really ugly and made big news on the ‘net. I hear a team meeting will be held to discuss this issue but that the potato matter won’t be specifically addressed. Hey, being a tester and doing one’s job can be very…”testy.”

In one of the worst wrestling secrets in a long time, TNA on their website has all but confirmed that Mick Foley is going to appear on a future show. Now while we reported from a converstation with Foley Saturday he claims he has yet to sign with TNA, either that changed or they are allowing him to do a PPV and see his interest.

For now, we'll see how he is used and how much time on TV and/or in the ring he gets.

Mick Foley, who has been the talk of the wrestling community as of late due to the fact he's supposed to be gone and going to TNA, made a stop in Cleveland today at the Indians baseball game and threw out the first pitch and signed autographs for fans. I made my way through the line and got a chance to speak with Mick on the TNA rumor and what exactly is going on:

Matt: "Mick, so what is true on these rumors of your leaving?"

Foley: "I didn't even know there were rumors."

Matt: "Various sites are reporting you are leaving WWE and signing with TNA...is that true?"

Foley: "Who reported that?"

Matt: "It's all over wrestling sites on the net"

Foley: "Well, I can say that is NOT true, though I may try out a PPV with them."

So there you have it, a first-hand conversation that while Foley will likely end up in TNA, the deal, according to him, has yet to be inked. At least not yet. Foley's WWE conract ends on Monday, and today's appearance at the Indians game was not even promoted on the WWE's list on their website.

Wade Keller is reporting that Mick Foley has agreed to terms with TNA and will debut as soon as he is contractually free to do so. His WWE contract expires within days.

Foley's TNA deal was worked out with help from Spike TV, which may have subsidized the contract. He may end up being involved in other Spike TV projects.

Foley was dropped from WWE storylines once WWE learned that he was unhappy and likely not renewing his deal and instead interested in signing with TNA. While there's been a lot of buzz about Foley in the locker room among wrestlers, the management team had been quiet about it and perhaps largely out of the loop, but were hopeful Dixie Carter was getting the deal done.

Last night during the main event of RAW between Batista and Kane JSX and I had a rather spirited discussion about the WWE Hall of Fame and some of the "fringe" wrestlers that do or do not belong in it. The one name that always comes up in my mind about if he should make it or not eventually is Kane. Yes, the Big Red Machine has had quite a WWE run, way back from WrestleMania 14 when he first fought his brother the Undertaker.

Kane has also undergone quite a change from his time under the mask to now, as he's now simply unmasked and bald, as compared to back in the day. He's also been a heel and face about 50 times each, and I guess now fans are supposed to boo him again for his dirty deeds done to Rey Mysterio and last night to Batista.

I personally would put him in. He's the overall best rival that Taker has ever had, and had two solid WrestleMania matches (14 and 20) against him. He has fought just about everyone, and while I doubt we'll ever see another major title around his waist again, he did hold the WWE Title for one day when he bested Steve Austin at the King of the Ring on the same night Taker threw Mick Foley off the top of the cage.

He also has had the IC belts, Tag belts, and ECW title on a few different spots. He's always in some sort of main event mix, and has never had any issues with the company (at least none that have ever really come to light) like suspensions or walk outs like some other major stars. He's been a solid talent for the past 12 years, and the Kane character will always have a place in the company.

Kane in the Hall? Someday a sure thing.

The Gillespie Agency is expected to release a statement on Mick Foley, similar to the one they did for Ric Flair, around the first or second of September with information on how Mick Foley can be booked for various appearances and things since he will be done with WWE. For all purposes, Foley is done with WWE. Most people within WWE expect Foley to be 100% finished with the company now. The Gillespie Agency represents Ric Flair, Mick Foley and Roddy Piper, among others.

Could Mick Foley already be through with World Wrestling Entertainment? Mick Foley did not appear at last night's SmackDown taping in Norfolk, Virginia. Tazz took his place alongside Jim Ross for the second week in a row. Also, Matt Striker joined Todd Grisham at the announcers table for last night's edition of ECW on Sci Fi. It was believed that Foley was only going to be held off television for one week to sell his beating from Edge, but by the looks of things, the removal of Foley from the announcers' booth could be permanent. Last week, Foley told the Long Island Press that there was a good chance he would not be renewing his contract with WWE after it expired on September 1, 2008 because the announcing job wasn't working out too well.

According to the U.K. Sun, Mick Foley will be heading to TNA after his contract with WWE expires. The article includes a statement from Foley's friend, "Mick's body cannot handle a full time schedule, even in TNA. But he's hell bent on doing everything he can to further his legacy and put them on the map. So Mick's plan is to wrestle select dates, like Sting currently does."

Amidst online reports of Mick Foley possibly departing from World Wrestling Entertainment, the Long Island Press contacted him to ask him about it. Foley responded to their phone messages with the following statement:

"I can't say much until after my contract expires, which is September 1st. But at this point, there is a good chance, through mutual agreement, that I will not be renewing the contract," Foley said while leaving a phone message Thursday evening. "Creatively, the announcing job wasn't working out too well."
