What Happened to the Harts at the Rumble

A source close to the situation notes that there may be something to the way the former members of The Hart Foundation were booked in the last week with David Hart Smith being pulled from the Royal Rumble, Natalya losing her Divas Title out of the blue and Hornswoggle giving Tyson Kidd an Attitude Adjustment.

McMahon Behind Hornswoggle in the Rumble

It was Vince McMahon’s idea to have Hornswoggle featured with John Cena in the Royal Rumble on Sunday. Word is that Vince thought Hornswoggle being center stage in the Rumble would be a good way of re-introducing his character. Expect to see more of Hornswoggle over the next few weeks or months.

Hornswoggle Run-In at TLC?, More on Why Little People's Court Hasn't Happened

Timing issues also played a factor in "little people's court" with DX and Hornswoggle not airing on RAW this past week. WWE's talent relations that were to book the little people weren't getting answers back from creative as to how many they needed, who would get what roles or a male/female breakdown.

The original idea for the segment came from Vince McMahon and nobody wanted to commit to doing anything about the angle until it came from Vince first and since Vince didn't get around to it until the weekend, it was too late to throw everything together for Monday. Word is that those in creative weren't really crazy about the idea to begin with.

For what it's worth, there is consideration of Hornswoggle doing a run-in near the finish for the DX vs. Chris Jericho & Big Show match at the TLC pay-per-view.

Update on The "Little Peoples Court"

The creative decision to not have “little people’s court” on RAW this past Monday was made over the weekend and kept quiet since WWE officials weren’t happy about it leaking in the first place. There was talk of filming the segment in Dallas, Texas next week before RAW but the belief after RAW this week was that they will probably string it along until the week after the three-hour RAW with Dennis Miller and the Slammy Awards.

Chavo Defends the Hornswoggle Storyline

Chavo Guerrero posted a few messages on his Twitter account defending his ongoing storyline with Hornswoggle:

“You all realize that it’s not wrestling anymore, right?” Guerrero wrote. “It’s entertainment. Sometimes I wonder by your comments.

“You guys realize that I can out “wrestle” most guys in the WWE, right? The way you guys respond makes me think that you actually think I’m losing. It makes me think I’m responding to RETARDS! We’re not the UFC. It’s not real. I can beat up a midget any day of the week and so could you. But who wants to see that?”Cha

ECW - Why Again Did I Watch This?

ECW's offering on Tuesday night was, per usual, nothing special, but we did get a few interesting things out of it. First off, sounds like Tommy Dreamer is in someone's dog house backstage for talking about TNA on his recent blog entry. Dreamer talked about watching and liking the TNA product, a big "no-no" in the WWE. Seems like he paid for it with a quick opening beating from Vladimir Kozlov and then Jack Swagger.

The funny part is we never really heard why the beating took place, or what may come of it.

As for the announcement of Kozlov vs Matt Hardy for the ECW Title at the PPV Sunday, seems like a total rushed deal to me, but that's what we have come to expect at ECW. They have tired as hard as they can with Kozlov, but at the end of the day they will come to find out he's nothing special, and he's a waste of time. We'll see if Hardy can get something good of him Sunday night.

The tag match with Miz and Morrison vs Kung Fu Naki and Jimmy Wang Yang was not a bad match, but I again have to question the long-term focus of Miz and Morrison. Too often they break up tag teams too fast, but this team needs to be broken up just so we can see what is going on with them as single wrestlers. At least this was an entertaining match to watch.

You gotta love WWE.com, which states the following about the Boogeyman match: "Boogeyman def. local competitor - After making quick work of a local athlete, Boogeyman added insult to injury by “worming” the poor competitor. Who is next to suffer the same, slimy fate?"

Just who is this mysterious "local competitor," and will we see him again? I guess only the WWE knows.

As for the main event, I could have done without it. You of course don't need to have a PHD to figure out that Mark Henry is eventually going to turn on the much older (yet in better shape than Henry) Tony Atlas. I for one don't care if I ever see Finlay Hornswoggle again in a ring together, but the company seems to think it's something we want to see.

Hopefully they will get the hint. Oh, and as for Henry and Atlas winning. Does anyone really care? And so goes another week of ECW.

ECW Preview for Tonight from ECW.com

Preview:A Hardy two for one on Tuesday
July 15, 2008

As reported on WWE.com over the weekend, The Hardys will reunite for one night only on ECW on Sci Fi this Tuesday night. SmackDown Superstar Jeff Hardy will tag over to the Land of the Extreme to partner up with his brother, United States Champion Matt Hardy, and face off against the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz & John Morrison. Titles won't be on the line, but the "Dirt Sheet" duo's self-proclaimed reputation as the best tandem in WWE could be in jeopardy when they confront the team that for years epitomized Extreme.

Meanwhile, ECW Champion Mark Henry has had the Land of the Extreme in the palm of his massive hand, and last Tuesday was no different. The World’s Strongest Man took advantage of a distraction by Tony Atlas and Colin Delaney, capitalizing and crushing Tommy Dreamer. The ECW Original and former ECW Champion has not been shy about wanting to prove himself against Henry. Have his days of trying come to an end? Can somebody slow the champion down and prevent him from making the era of Mark Henry virtually permanent?

New Superstar Evan Bourne continues to open eyes with his performances. His convincing win against Nunzio further establishes that he belongs with the extreme competition on Tuesday nights. Braden Walker also had a quick start, defeating Armando Estrada on Tuesday. One week earlier, new Superstar Ricky Ortiz also notched a win in his debut. Is new blood about to start defining the Land of the Extreme?

Also on the last ECW, the rivalry continued to escalate between Finlay & Hornswoggle and the WWE Tag Team Champions. The father-son duo got the last laugh, however, as Finlay topped The Miz in one-on-one competition. Do the Irishmen still pose as a threat to The Miz & John Morrison’s titles?

Find out the answers to all of these questions and more on the next ECW on Sci Fi, Tuesday at 10/9 CT.

RAW Preview from WWE.com

Preview:Past, Present & Future
March 10, 2008

The Bradley Center in Milwaukee will be rocking with three solid hours of action as Raw airs a special “WrestleMania Rewind Night” extravaganza.

Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW will battle in rematches from past WrestleMania spectaculars, giving competitors the chance to rewrite – or relive – history. Video Preview ...

During this special Raw event, Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Big Show will meet in an official WrestleMania weigh-in for their titanic matchup in Orlando, Fla. Will sparks fly as The Greatest Fighter in the World will once again be in the same ring with the gargantuan former World Champion before their one-on-one contest at WrestleMania XXIV?

John Cena made the matches last week on Raw, and got an RKO for his efforts. Now, as seen exclusively first on WWE Mobile on AT&T, Raw GM William Regal tapped Orton to be in charge in next week's Triple Threat Takeover on Raw. What will the WWE Champion have in store for his two WrestleMania opponents?

Shawn Michaels told Ric Flair he didn’t want to be the man to end the legendary 35-year career of the Nature Boy. Will HBK reconsider and recommit to facing his friend on sports-entertainment’s grandest stage?

Last week, Finlay ended all the speculation about Hornswoggle and Mr. McMahon, telling the world he was behind the ruse that portrayed the leprechaun as the billionaire’s bastard son and admitting that he was the real father. JBL then challenged the Belfast Brawler to a match at WrestleMania, as he further tortured Hornswoggle in his hospital bed. Bet on the Irish coming out ready to fight next Monday if Finlay crosses paths with the self-made millionaire.

What other surprises will be in store? Tune in live this Monday at a special time – 8/7 CT – on USA Network for three action-packed hours of “WrestleMania Rewind Night” on Raw.

Foley Ready to Finally Call it Quits?

Brian Fritz of the Orlando Sentinel noted in one of his recent columns that former WWE Hardcore Champion Mick Foley will be retiring this year. Foley had talked about his match with Jonathan Coachman on television being his last match, but also pitched an idea for after WrestleMania 24. Mick was also recently involved in a match with Hornswoggle on RAW.

Foley originally retired from World Wrestling Entertainment in 2000, with the idea that he would still appear once or twice a year. With his knee and back problems, Foley is said to be mentally ready to be finished for good.
