Benoit Doctor Linked To Another Wrestler Death
The doctor connected to the death of pro wrestler Chris Benoit is now being linked to the death of another wrestler. Investigators said Dr. Phil Astin the Third wrote Michael Durham four prescriptions for painkillers within a 25-day period in March, 2005. Two of those prescriptions were for 60, 350-milligram Soma pills, a powerful muscle relaxer. Durham died February 16th, 2006. The official cause was given as blockage of vessels supplying blood to his heart, but he also had toxic levels of Soma and hydrocodone in his system. Astin is accused of overprescribing drugs to two patients. Investigators said he prescribed large amounts of steroids to Benoit.
