ECWphew
OK maybe I jumped ahead a bit declaring the talent share between ECW and Smack Down as the wave of the future for both brands and the way the whole WWE should go. Well tonight showed all the things that could go wrong with such plans. Other than the main event, everything else was worthy of dark matches or house shows at best. It looks like they are trying to set up Mark Henry and Kane, but as I have stated before Henry just does not have enough talent to make any significant impact. They have tried for at least over 5 years with this guy and his only real claim to fame was his love affair with May Young.
The rest of the matches tonight was a parade of who cares. Jamie Noble/Nunzio, Layla/ Kelly Kelly and Elijah Burke/Shanon Moore. Nothing of any significance in these matches and not really anything I want to see. It was just filler so they could make the hour time slot. And these matches barely did that as they had to use promos for Morrison and Punk and a replay of the Fabulous Moola tribute. With this poor performance how can this brand be taken seriously. Considering both Punk and Morrison will most likely move to either Smack Down or Raw within the next year what lies ahead for the ECW. All I know is something major has to happen and if tonight is any indication of the future of ECW, than we are in for some tough times
