WWE Cuts Down on Flying Non-Needed Wrestlers

In an apparent cost-cutting move, it looks like WWE is cutting down on flying in wrestlers they have absolutely no plans for at specific television tapings. Often times, active talents are brought in regardless if they’re scheduled to be used or not. According to the roster sheet for this past Monday’s edition of RAW, a number of wrestlers were not brought to last week’s show in Boston including both members of Cryme Tyme — Shad & JTG, Charlie Haas, Dolph Ziggler, Sim Snuka (whose adopted father appeared at the show), Candice Michelle and Jamie Noble. On the roster sheet, the missing RAW talents were specifically listed as “NOT AT TV.”

Update on Why Some Wrestlers were Released

From: WrestleScoop.com

- Stevie Richards release was a surprise since management recently praised him for his series against Vladimir Kozlov on Smackdown.

- Cherry's release was also a surprise as she was been heavily involved in the Smackdown Diva mix in recent months.

- Colin Delaney recently faced Tommy Dreamer on ECW and turned heel, which failed to draw a response from the crowd.

- The Highlander (Robbie and Rory McAllister) faced Cryme Tyme on RAW this week in a quick match and lost. Robbie's appearance on TNA Impact prior to WrestleMania was probably the reason the team was released.

RAW Preview from WWE.com

Preview:
The Animal's Big Bash
July 14, 2008

Since CM Punk became World Heavyweight Champion, he has been mobbed by Superstars hoping to get their opportunity to win it away from him. With neither a General Manager or the WWE Chairman to set matches, last Monday night saw John Cena, Batista, Kane and JBL face off in a Fatal Four Way Match to determine which of them should face Punk at The Great American Bash. Batista won the contest and will compete for the World Title in just two short weeks. How will The Animal garner momentum in the coming weeks?

After Batista pinned Kane in the Fatal Four Way, the Big Red Monster went on a rampage outside the ring, manhandling WWE production crew and announcers alike, including Jerry “The King” Lawler. While tearing apart the ringside area, Kane screamed “Is he alive or is he dead?” Who is the Big Red Monster referring to, and what other outbursts can we expect from him in the coming weeks? Who is "He"? View and vote now!

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston won his title from Chris Jericho at Night of Champions, and managed to successfully defend it against Y2J. On Monday he continued his winning streak on Raw by defeating Charlie Haas. Before the Jamaican Champion could soak in his victory however, he was brutally assaulted by Paul Burchill, who performed his signature Curb Stomp on Kingston. Does Burchill have his eye on Kingston’s Intercontinental Title? And how long until he faces the Jamaican Superstar in the ring?

In addition to facing one another as part of a Fatal Four Way, John Cena took an extra act of retribution against JBL on Monday Night. Retaliating for being escorted out by the self-made millionaire’s private security force the week before, Cena and Cryme Tyme took crowbars and baseball bats to JBL’s limo. To what lengths will the Longhorn Loudmouth go to get back at the Chain Gang Commander?

To catch all the build up to The Great American Bash, make sure to tune into Raw, Monday nights at 9/8 CT, only on USA Network.

African American Stars Set to Getting Pushes?

From: Wrestlescoop.com

WWE deciding to use Cryme Tyme in the final segment of RAW this past week shows a greater emphasis on the team which is a part of the company-wide effort to push the African American stars to rebuild the TV audience in that demographic. With Kofi Kingston and Cryme Tyme set to have top spots on RAW and Mark Henry dominating ECW, it looks like Ron Killings will be placed on SmackDown as we're hearing that he is set to get a top-level push.

One Half of Cryme Tyme Talks About their Return

Cryme Tyme's Shad recently posted the following bulletin on their MySpace page speaking on his and JTG's WWE return:

As you know yes we are back, but what you don’t know, what know one new except for the hire ups in WWE, is we have been back for awhile.

How we came back is a story that you will probably here in the next few weeks so keep checking out WWE.COM for news. What I would like to do thou is thank all you fans for sending me and J e-mail, writing petitions, and chanting our names at shows. We read every thing and we heard your cheers and it helped motivate the both of us to train harder, get bigger, stronger, and more intelligent about this business. It also showed us that we are the peoples wrestlers, we are here to represent all the people (Black, White, Asian, Latin, & More) in the ring, because we are just like you guy, two kids who were fans with a dream and the determination to see it thru. So ones agene thank you. Thank you to the fans of JAPW (Jersey All Pro Wrestling), OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling), and Booker T’s PWA (Pro Wrestling Alliance) for coming out to watch us at these great promotions. Some of the best talent in the business are in these three promotions developing to become the next big stars.

Thank you to all the boys (You Know Who You Are) that called, sat down & talked, vouched for us, and gave us the confidents that we could come back. Thank you to my family for standing behind me and special thanks to Booker T, Al Snow, And Danny Davis for training me these last few months, helping me step up my game. And finally thank you WWE for believing in two kids from the streets of Brooklyn NY, and giving us a second chance. We will not let our fans, friends, families, and WWE down. We are here to rise to the top and make some NOISE!!! So when you see us coming stand up and shout Money, Money, Yeah, Yeah.
