Hardy Still on the Slate for SmackDown Taping Tuesday
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy remains advertised for this week’s SmackDown/ECW tapings in Phoenix. Hardy is scheduled to face CM Punk in a steel cage match. The match is expected to be presented to the live crowd after the taping concludes.
Hardy lost the title to CM Punk last night at Summerslam, immediately following CM Punk’s victory, The Undertaker made a surprise return and choke slammed CM Punk before the PPV went off the air. WWE’s creative team plugged Undertaker in to the PPV to replace Jeff Hardy as the top baby face of the SmackDown brand, while Jeff Hardy takes his hiatus from Pro Wrestling.
Also advertised for the tapings is a Unified Tag Team title match for the live crowd. The champions Chris Jericho and The Big Show will face off against Rey Mysterio and The Great Khali.
