JR Speaks Out on Jeff Hardy, Hell in a Cell PPV

Here are some highlights from Jim Ross’ latest blog on jrsbarbq.com:

- Word has it that Jeff Hardy is “laying low” these days and diligently preparing to meet the challenges that await him. The more I hear of this legal matter the more I think that there is MUCH more to this story than meets the eye and that Jeff Hardy is far from being a drug trafficker. To even think the latter is ridiculous. I feel confident that in the coming weeks that Jeff will have his day to reconcile this matter and to better address it publically. Until then, Jeff is wise to remain silent and not feel obligated to tweet, etc his fans as no one needs or deserves any information on this issue until the proper time. Just from what I have been able to ascertain, this case looks much worse on paper than it actually is but let’s all allow the legal process to address this matter and remember that we, as citizens of the United States, are innocent until proven guilty.

- I don’t know the details of what going to occur as it relates to replacing Lilian Garcia, whose last night on the job was this past Monday, but I suspect that Justin Roberts, the current SD ring announcer, might get that nod. That’s just speculation on my part but Justin does a really nice job and is a reliable, professional young man. I think getting a female who also sings to do Lil’s role has its challenges. However, it’s obvious that a new ring announcer is needed and someone will be introduced next week or so it would seem. The young lady who worked in Tulsa Tuesday night seem to sing the National Anthem quite well.

- Tickets are still available for the SD 10th Anniversary Show in Boston which should be a good night. Some fans want to see an ample array of highlights while others want live action. I have no idea what we will receive but I do know that all three WWE brands will be on hand for the last broadcast prior to the “Heck in a Cell” PPV.

More on the Awful Weekend for Lilian Garcia

As seen during last night's SummerSlam pay-per-view broadcast, ring announcer Lilian Garcia made a rather sizable mishap by announcing Randy Orton as the winner and new WWE Champion after Orton had disqualified himself by shoving referee Scott Armstrong during his championship bout with John Cena. This was not the only unfortunate thing to happen to Garcia this weekend as someone stole her cell phone (with all of her contacts) and digital camera during her visit to Venice Beach on Saturday. An upset Garcia wrote the following on her Twitter account late Saturday night: "Not a good day at Venice beach. Jerk stole my phone & camera! Had to buy new phone today & lost ALL my contacts. Bummed!! Stealing sucks!!!"

Garcia will be working tonight's Raw in Las Vegas, which may not necessarily be her last date for WWE.

Lilian Garcia Annoucnes She is Leaving WWE in 2010

Lilian Garcia made the following announcement on her official website this morning:

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.

Love you all & keep rockin!

Forever Rockin’,
Lilian

Another Tidbit on the Women's WM 25 Battle Royal

Some people in WWE are pushing for Lilian Garcia to take part in the Divas Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25 as a rib, but that doesn’t mean it will happen. Besides a few angles over the years and a Gown vs. Tuxedo match against Howard Finkel in 2002, Lilian hasn’t had any matches that I can think of.

On a related note, another Diva with not much experience will be performing in the Battle Royal at WrestleMania. ECW’s Tiffany has wrestled in WWE developmental but since being called up to the main roster, she has only had one match. Tiffany took part in a 16 Diva tag match on the 800th episode of RAW but probably didn’t even make it in the ring.
