Kevin Nash Explains Why He's Barely Aged

Speaking to WWE Magazine, Kevin Nash explains why he has managed to withstand father time, which has allowed him to secure plum roles in the image-conscious WWE at the age of 52.

"I've been blessed with Indian heritage, and I haven't aged much facially. And keep in mind the fact I'm talking to you in front of the gym. I go to the gym everyday. I eat a clean diet. Today, I weighed 282 pounds, and I haven't weighed that since I was 22 years old," says the six-time world champion.

"People who had seen me with gray hair thought I was so old. Then, when I dyed it they said, "Oh wow, he doesn't look that old anymore." But here's what I don't understand: We have a segment sponsored by Just for Men, and the fans chant it when I came out and they're not doing something. I just don't get it. Does anyone not see the correlation there? Wouldn't it be more advantageous for them to put my beard and mustache on and say, "Hey, you're up next," and I do a five-minute cover-my-gray routine in front of the camera? But no, they leave it to the Madison Avenue guys."

Nash will face Triple H tomorrow night at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs in a Sledgehammer Ladder Match.

Reaction to the Promo Punk and Nash Had at RAW

Kevin Nash is expected to be at this coming Monday’s RAW and will be a regular character on WWE TV going forward. As teased on Monday’s RAW, the plans are indeed for Nash to face CM Punk in the ring. The idea behind Punk and Nash feuding is to give Punk a top name that would put him over.

Regarding their segment on Monday’s RAW, the feeling backstage was that Punk got the better of Nash and Nash’s comebacks were too inside and outdated compared to Punk’s.

Since Nash didn’t get that big of a reaction when he came out on RAW, there was talk that they need to do a better job of explaining on TV to the current generation of fans who Nash is.

Talk Regarding Triple H Using Nash/Waltman in FCW

There are people within WWE who don’t feel that the current developmental system is giving the company a return for their money. While everyone is expecting a complete revamp of the FCW developmental system, nobody has a clue what changes will be made now that Triple H has a much bigger role.

A lot of people expect Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman to be involved in whatever changes happen because Triple H trusts them to give him straight answers on the developmental talents.

Kevin Nash Wants a Feud with The Big Show

In a new interview with John Pollock of The Fight Network, Kevin Nash says he hopes to face Big Show at this year's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view and talks about almost doing something with Show at the WrestleMania 27 pay-per-view last month. Nash notes that it wouldn't have been fair to take the WrestleMania spot of another WWE Superstar who had been waiting on their first WrestleMania.

Regarding his WWE return at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, Nash said those few moments were better than anything that happened to him during his five year stint with TNA.

Nash also talks about how Shawn Michaels (who he thinks won't ever return), other veterans and himself may get involved with WWE's developmental process that Triple H is currently heading up.

Latest From Jim Ross' Blog

Jim Ross has posted his latest blog entry. Some highlights from this entry:

- Floyd Mayweather created many fans within the WWE as a result of his performance at WM24. Fans will never know how hard Floyd worked to prepare for WM24 and how hell-bent he was to make his in-ring business exceed everyone’s expectations, and it did. The Big Show also rose to the occasion and the standing "O" that Show received Monday night was well earned. Show may be more popular now than at any other time since he came to the WWE. Floyd presenting yours truly with one of the gloves he wore in the WM24 fight, autographed. It will be hanging in our new restaurant in Moore, Oklahoma in a few weeks. Floyd now turns his attention to his September fight with Oscar De LaHoya.

- Lots of TNA/Wrestlemania stories coming out of Orlando, as if it there was a big "wrestling war" going on, which is absurd. Talents were asked not to fraternize, which I think in hindsight was much to do about not much. TNA apparently showing Robbie McAllister at the TNA TV show on Thursday night was not a classy thing to do, as McAllister was sent home as a result of it and his status is unknown to me at this time. Two wrongs do not make a right, McAllister should never have gone to the show and TNA should never have put another wrestler’s job in jeopardy. Not real smart on either’s part, in my view.

- For the record, Ric Flair doesn’t even know how many title reigns he has. We talked at length about it and the number is at least 19 and maybe more for you trivia buffs out there.

- Nice fit and a nice move for Dusty Rhodes to get off the road and focus on helping develop young talent down in Tampa at the WWE’s developmental facility. At The Dream’s stage of the game and after being on the road for most of his life, a change in travel schedule and being in a less pressurized position will be good for Rhodes, who can add a great deal to the process in Tampa. This move has been a while in the making.

- I did not see Kevin Nash and his 6′1" eleven year old son, Tristen, at ’Mania but my wife had a nice visit with our old friend. I think it was great that Kevin brought his son to WM24 to simply enjoy the show, but the Oliver Stone’s of the world will no doubt make more of it than that. Kev is still a part of the WWE family and, in my eyes, always will be.

- Ric Flair is going to stay very busy working in a public relations capacity with the WWE and will likely be doing ample travel and pressing the flesh with many entities. Who better to do P.R. and tell stories and promote the business than "Naitch."
