Rhodes Leaves WWE Creative Team for Florida Developmental
From: PWInsider
As I broke last night exclusively on my PWInsider.com Elite Hotline news update, Dusty Rhodes has left his position on the WWE creative team to head up working on the creative end of WWE's developmental system.
Rhodes will be responsible for character development and for scripting the weekly Florida Championship Wrestling TV show when it debuts on Tampa's CW network affiliate, similar to the position held by Jim Cornette and Paul Heyman during their tenures with Ohio Valley Wrestling. FCW, run by Steve Keirn and Tom Prichard, is currently WWE's only developmental territory.
The move was seen as a good fit for Rhodes as it would keep him from having to travel on the road with the WWE creative team on a regular basis, put him back in his old stomping grounds of Florida and help him create a new crop of stars by meshing his own creative skills with knowledge of what WWE management wants by virtue of his creative team run. Rhodes had most recently been working on the ECW brand, which showed a marked improvement under his watch.
Developmental talents were informed recently of Rhodes' move. Rhodes' new responsibilities are why he wasn't at Raw last night to take part in the Ric Flair retirement ceremony.
