One of the main reasons the time limits were enforced in a more strict fashion at this year's 2009 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is because the original idea was that by booking the show to start at 6:00 p.m. local time that they would have had until 9:30 p.m. to finish the show for the airing on the USA Network since it would air at 11:00 p.m. ET (10:00 p.m. CT).

However, two weeks before the show USA decided to move the start time from 11:00 p.m. ET to 10:00 p.m. ET cutting an hour off the time they thought they would originally have to edit and get the show ready for airing. In previous year's the show aired in the 11:00 p.m. ET timeslot on USA. As a result, the WWE crew was intent on not having the show still taking place as the TV show started on USA since the network only wanted a one hour show and not go any longer.

This is why many live reports from the show noted how much more strict they were with time limits this year then in the past. Some have suggested the company look into running the show on the Friday night of WrestleMania weekend instead of Saturday night giving them enough time to edit the show and give the inductees as much time as they would like to talk. It should be noted that the WrestleMania 25 DVD will include the full 2009 Hall of Fame ceremony along with extended interviews conducted with inductees over the weekend.

WWE still hasn't announced Vince McMahon as the person who will induct Steve Austin into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. It may be saved for an announcement this week on RAW or done as a surprise. There's also no word yet on which Hall of Famers will be shown on the USA Network special but the likely list is The Funks, Ricky Steamboat and Steve Austin. With the exception of Vince and Austin, everyone has been told by management to limit their speeches to three minutes this year.

Two More big bad Texans are going to be introduced into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2009, as reports say that both Terry and Dory Funk will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. The official announcement will be made in a few weeks. That would make three men that will go into the Hall n 09 - Steve Austin and the two Funk Brothers.

Tickets to this year's WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas have not sold out despite last week's announcement of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin as the top inductee. In comparison, last year's event featuring Ric Flair almost immedatiately sold out a curtained off arena. WWE also sold out the 2004 event -- the year it was brought back -- as well as the 2006 event featuring the induction of Bret Hart.

The 2009 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place on April 4th at the Toyota Center, the day before WrestleMania XXV. The post-WM RAW will also take place at the Toyota Center the day after WrestleMania. Steve Austin is expected to be the top guy in this year's Hall of Fame.
