Update on WWE Planning Their Own Cable TV Network
The New York Times’ new report on WWE programming notes that they are still looking at launching their own cable TV network and that the NBC/WWE relationship being deepened with the return of Tough Enough may help the chances of that network.
Kevin Dunn, WWE’s executive TV producer, said the addition of Tough Enough to USA would not hurt the chances of launching the cable network. Dunn added that WWE is still talking to partners for their own TV network and those potential partners include NBC Universal.
As noted before, WWE’s Donna Goldsmith said back in November that it will be the middle of 2012 or early 2013 before they are ready to move forward with the network.
