WWE Set to Sign a Major Japan Star?
Strong Style Spirit reports that New Japan Pro Wrestling wrestler Naofumi Yamamoto is signing with WWE. Yamamoto has been away from Japan for some time now and has spent much of his time at WWE’s developmental territory in Tampa, FL. Yamamoto returned to the NJPW offices yesterday and announced he was leaving the company to join WWE. He said he actually left in February after not getting a new contract and had a successful WWE tryout match in April. He said he was thinking of returning to NJPW but when he saw Nakamura defeat Kurt Angle in February, he knew he would have to reach Nakamura’s level before returning anyway.
