Which Streak Will End?
The match for the World Heavy Weight Title features two individuals who have streaks of their own going. Edge has never lost to the Undertaker and we all know about the 15-0 streak at Wrestle Mania that the Undertaker has going. Well at Wrestle Mania 24 one of those streaks will come to an end. The safe money is Edge will lose, thus keeping the Undertaker undefeated and crowing him champion for a second year in a row.
This match will put Edge into one of the main events for the fist time in his career and he will handle himself just fine. Look back to two years ago in Chicago when he took on Mick Foley in a Hardcore rules match. He held his own against the hardcore legend and gave one of the more memorable performances on the card. Look for that to repeat again this year, as I feel this match and the Batista/Umaga match will be the highlights of this years show. Edge has done a great job of establishing himself as a heel, and the Vickie Guerrero angle has been pretty good and disgusting at the same time. Having already established himself as a solid singles performer this match will not really bolster his profile, but it gives him a chance to go up against one of the biggest names over the part decade in the WWE and show what he really has. I don't see him ending the Takers streak, but this match has plenty of potential to have at least two rematches on pay per views after Mania. There is no reason to believe after Mania Edge will be a key player in future story lines in the WWE.
So the streak most likely will continue for the Undertaker and he will win the belt two years in a row at Mania. Hopefully this title reign works out better than last time when he was injured only months after becoming the champ. Many felt last year he would retire, and I'm sure there will be rumblings after the match this year. I don't see it in the foreseeable future as he has finally returned to serious main-eventer status. He no longer is taking on the gigantic nobodies like Khali and Mark Henry on a regular basis in order to make them look good, but instead showed last year at Mania he can still steal a show. I feel this is great for him as he has been such a great performer for the WWE over the years and deserves to be in the title picture. Hopefully this win will not be his last shot at the title as he has plenty of great years ahead of him.
