Possible Twist of Fate
With Jeff Hardy's big win tonight over HBK is it possible he wins next Sunday in the Elimination Chamber? Conventional wisdom was prophesying Triple H and Cena at Mania, but with Hardy one of the hottest properties, and knocking off big name after big name, it may be Hardy/Cena. This would be a great main event and showcase two of the hottest young stars in the WWE. Also, it would keep the momentum going for Hardy. Not sure if a healthy Triple H would step aside from main eventing Mania, but it would be a huge surprise. It may end up being a three way with all the aforementioned gents, but I doubt it. As I wrote in my previous post on Cena's return, by the way which was received so well by most of the readers, by thrusting Cena back into the top spot with Triple H, it would kill off Hardy's momentum. But by going against conventional wisdom and not main eventing Triple H, Hardy would still be hot and meeting the equally smoking John Cena. Now we are talking a main event at Mania with some real electricity behind it.
Speaking of Cena, of course he put a quick finish to Mark Henry after Henry controlled most of the match. Of course Henry got sloppy and missed a charge into the corner, thus ending in the STFU and a tap out for Henry. Though Johnny boy was not done, as he had his peace with a ring side Orton. As much as I know most of you won't want to hear it, look for a great match between Orton and Cena at No Way Out. These two were made to feud with each other, but it will end at least for the near future on Sunday. If Cena would have stayed healthy, I feel Orton would have been looked at as a great champ due to how well they both play off each other. Look for Randy's next title push to involve Cena in some great matches.
As for the rest of Raw tonight, Umaga established it is every man for himself in the Elimination Chamber. After a another solid match between Jericho and JBL, the Samoan Bulldozer charged into the ring and spiked both Y2J and JBL. Umanga was supposed to be paid off by JBL for protection, but tonight proved otherwise.
It looks like Santino Marella's good luck with dating Maria is over. Tonight he issued the ultimatum of him or Playboy for Maria. Well we know it will be Maria in the buff, so Santino will have to look to Carlito for comfort and perhaps a way to become cool.
Kennedy showed the Dirtiest Player in the Game, Rick Flair, that the young pups know some tricks themselves. After a good verbal exchange with Flair, Kennedy acted like he was leaving the ring, but instead took a cheap shot at Flair's bad knee. It was great to see the cocky and mocking Kennedy return tonight. If he keeps this up he can regain the momentum he had going into last years Mania and perhaps a major title shot by the end of the year.
Well we finally saw the incest angle with Paul Burchill and his sister Katie Lea. Pirate, taboo love affair or as hot dog vendor turned wrestler, there is no gimmick that will work for Burchill. Give it up and just wrestle. If you can't make it on your talents alone by now it may be time to give it up, or at least give TNA a call.
Finally folks, will the Vince and Hornswogle tough love B.S. please end. It has gotten old and I really don't care what predicament little Horny finds himself in each week. We all know Finlay will come to the rescue and further piss off Vince. Though I feel we may see a custody battle at Mania as Vince over the past years has had to involve himself somehow. So it looks at least one more month of this sad story line.
