Details of Benoit's Double Murder-Suicide "A Little Bizarre" Says District Attorney

In what is sure to be a backlash to the sport of wrestling, the harshest details of the Chris Benoit and family double murder-suicide have yet to come out, and according to various news sources, those details are going to be very hard to swallow. According to Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard, he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that "The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre."

The Associated Press is reporting that details of the deaths may come out after the completion of autopsies, which is scheduled for this morning. The autopsies are scheduled to be done at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in DeKalb County. Ballard was quoted in the article as saying "We're pretty sure we know (how they died), but we want to confirm it with the crime lab."

The story continues to be that Benoit killed his wife, 43-year-old Nancy, on Saturday, and then on Sunday killed his 7-year-old son Daniel. Then it is being reported that he killed himself on Monday. Last night on the 3-hour RAW tribute on USA Network, friend Chavo Guerrero said that he spoke to Benoit on Sunday and that Chris told Chavo that he loved him. Chris was set to be in Houston that night for the WWE PPV, but missed that as well as the house show the company ran in Texas on Saturday night.

Various web sites were reporting that Benoit told the WWE he would not be at the PPV on Sunday because his wife and son were "coughing up blood." If that is true, or has anything do with their deaths, is unknown. There has been conformation that no gun or blade was used in the double murder-suicide.

At this time WWE is planning on having a normal TV taping of SmackDown and ECW tonight in San Antonio. What reference they make to Benoit is yet to be determined. They also have put to rest the Vince McMahon "death" storyline, with McMahon speaking to RAW viewers last night in the ring, the storyline at this point has been dropped.

Here's a video story on Benoit's tragic death.
